Challenging entropy, leaving a legacy. Lifetime learning and mentoring. Health, flexibility, smell, and reverence.
I think some of us here were once very sincere in what we belived. I respect those that post sincere in there new believe. As for me:-
You are like you
And no other comparrison will do,
But when you try to " witness to me"
Thats quite enough for me.
What i mean is my favourite mint is " the polo mint". It is the mint with hole, so it's more than a mint!! I can slso play darts with it before i eat it.But at the end of the day i'd rather eat my polo than play darts with the hole.
What i'am saying is i have learnt to respect other peoples opinions, and if they dont hurt anyone, i dont feel compelled to change those believes.
To qualify my above post " love you Mouthy" and wouldn't want to change you.
NEW HOPE & HAPPINESS - Good thread ! I believe that freedom of mind is the thing that I cherish the most since exiting the JW cult. The freedom to think for myself and make my OWN decisions without having to BE judged or JUDGE anyone else . Of course I cherish my wife and my son, my two daughters, as Peter Gabriel once said in a song " I love to be loved " I love giving love as well in an emotional, mental , and physical way to my wife.
I highly value and treasure all the friends I've made on the board here and other non-Witness friends and family I have. Also the freedom and having the TIME to pursue interests and hobbies that we were not allowed to pursue during our time as JW's because the WT Society ALWAYS kept us too busy to pursue anything MEANINGFUL in our lives. So now I stay busy running my own business and enjoy songwriting, playing live music on my guitar and singing. It's a really great outlet for dealing with stress in life as well as emotionally healing to me and hopefully others. My wife and I enjoy growing an organic garden where we get fresh vegetables and fruit- we enjoy our pet dog a black lab, our two cats and enjoy going on hikes in the woods out here in the Sierra mountains in California here. My son enjoys doing that as well with us and we are very close to he and his girlfriend.
So we have many things to appreciate and be thankful for ! These are the things that pop out to me as well as being grateful for our health and hoping for good health continuing for our friends and loved ones
That it matters that I exist.
Some people believe in god in order to tick this box, instantly your life matters. Some work to make their life mean something to them and others. There is no right or wrong answer, but for me I feel fulfilled that it matters if I am alive or not every day. One day I won't exist anymore, I am ok with that, because I am working hard to make sure it mattered that I once did.
Thanks flipper and Snake.
A private joke for jgnat:-
" snake" says " that it matters that i exist"
" Me" can you proove that as a " fact" snake.
And thank you for the word entropy.
Why?
Well i never even new such words existed when i was a J.W. Yes so much to learn having left J.W black & white thinking.
I think.....
Your very modest snake.
Snake became a doctor, " Respect" ...hope you still like a beer ( But not the day before an operation)
How many more modest people?
Terry commented but didn't mention he has written an important book.
