So the age old witness argument that "god allows bad to occur to prove the issue of universal sovereignty...and to show satan to be a liar...and that anyway, he will ressurect all those who have been killed in this wicked world blah blah" Makes no sense!
Imagine for a moment:
You are a doctor who specialises in treating burns victims. So when you see your young child and his little friends playing near an open fire, you don't do anything to stop them getting hurt...because you KNOW you can treat their burns and help them get cured after it happens!
Does your inaction to prevent the injury in the first place make sense just because you can fix their injuries later with your skills??

NavyTown - Ditto x 1000. It amazes me how anyone educated or smarter than the average bear can remain religious. It also amazes me how anyone coming out of a high control cult like the Dubs continues to seek 'god' in other religions. As if. Some even return to high control groups, such as the Mormons and Islam. No offense intended, please, but I find it impossible to understand. BTW NavyTown, I'm glad you are on this forum; I don't know that I ever disagree with anything you write.

Yep no god I want anything to do with would allow this for over 6000 years if you believe the bibles timeline. And lets no forget according to the bible in all that time he talk to about 100 total people and influence and area of the world the size of Rhode Island. Lets also not forget he got his butt kicked by the god Chomesh in one battle and could help Judah against his enemies that had chariots. This guy is an Evil prick that like genocide, rape , slavery yep not my god anymore!!!!!!! If there is a GOD hes off playing around in his vast Universe he created and doesn't have time nor desire to screw around with the creatures of one little blue planet in the milky way galaxy.. If I were braver I'd probably be atheist.
Does the existance/nonexistance of God even matter? There's nothing we can do about it, we can't know for sure, all we can do is live our lives and do our best.
I heard somebody, somewhere (it may have been Clive James) say that the logical position is to start off atheist and the revise your position with the gathering of new evidence.

"Universal sovereignty" argument is fallible. I prescribed to it even 9 months ago when I was using that argument on these forums. Also the "free will" argument is even worse. This showcases it's fallacies in a humorous way...
