When we say " I love you" to a person do we need law books to define the word?
Is romantic love not more commonly defined as i love your wealth, power, fame, intrige and seductionn?
Bugger.
Londo111 and EndofMysteries beat me to it.
LOVE is an involuntary physical and emotional reaction to anything/anyone which most fully embodies our strongest VALUES.
All emotions are a signal connected to our values.
If we regard snakes as a deadly menace we will experience FEAR.
The stronger our positive valuations, the more effort we will expend toward acquiring any expression of it.
Note: Our sense of value can be totally corrupt, misguided, and distored, and this will result in the emotional
counterpart reflect such dysfunction.

When our set of values come into conflict with each other, the ambilavent involuntary emotions can be felt
as overwhelming confusion. Passion vs. hatred, for example.
Religious values, insofar as those values do NOT reflect reality, compel a sometimes outrageously destructive emotional consequence.

Any strong emotion we feel is a strong CLUE as to our actual value.
