Yes it is the exact same pattern repeating. And like cycles in life, nations, ecological systems, in fact all things, it is not surprising the apostasy cycle is repeating in JWs. There is not one singular anomaly as a whole that people have come to define in history, everything is repeating cycles, the "history repeats itself" proverbial saying.
In reality the "history" itself really is singular, even if it is a repeating principle, it is the repeating patterns and principles that invariably cycle and repeat in all nations and peoples.
The trick with JWs was seeing the pattern in everyone else EXCEPT themselves where it is most applicable, thus all their own teachings are serving them no real benefit, but rather attempting to "establish their own righteousness":
(Romans 10:2-3) For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God; but not according to accurate knowledge; 3 for, because of not knowing the righteousness of God but seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
And so lawless and apostate Bethel as a classic repeat of reality, simply hides in a smokescreen of a former time when their lawlessness was not brazen and actual policy of their organization like the top stumbling devices in JWs today. Today's JWs drive far more people from "the truth" than to it by Bethel's public lawless record.
Bethel is the modern Super-Apostate, and that is why they demoralize people by accusing others of that "apostate" condition, which diverts JW attention to the wrong locale away from where the apostasy is, in the exact same form and place as Israel's was: in the top leadership—not in pews, and not on the street.
Bethel is the location of the modern organized apostasy, the sooty pot of UN NGO "Camel" meat to "gulp down" at the Bethel spiritual cafeteria, whilst JWs chase down the thousand "gnats" in and around the congregation, to "keep it spiritually clean", while something like the UN NGO systemically pollutes the totality. But its not the only "Camel" the Bethel Pharisees are "gulping down" and putting in the JW food and water supply.
In fact the parallels to Israel, Baal, Bethel override, Judas, Pharisees, Sanhedrin, betrayal, hubris, blindness, half truths, lies, predation, etc, etc, now in the Bethel system, one could right a book about the repeating patterns in the Bethel "a system of things" (Matt13:36-42) that demonstrate the same thing.
Take a read through Isaiah, Amos, Micah and Hosea and put Bethel in for Israel, or where Bethel occurs naturally in the text, and it is the exact same thing; just update it for modern times, while JWs with "hand to a plow looking back" keep focused in the rear-view mirror to "Israel" and "1914" and old school JW "traditions", while the whole farming project has swerved into the canal and ditch, they are plowing the desert, they have left the county, and they don't see it, because they refuse to look at the now.
Yet to some, it is plainly obvious, just like it occurred in Israel's time, some saw the disaster forming and tried to warn fellow Israelites to be treated the same way modern JWs sell out and disown their own brothers and sisters who call Bethel on their literal and spiritual criminal activities. The "den of robbers", at billion dollar scale.
Actually, as with Israel, its a sad story overall. Give a GB "Sanhedrin" control, and soon the "anointed" are driven out of town, or they have fled. Bethel has a gleaming whitewash and handy smokescreen, but like the whole of the pattern, the outcome will also repeat what came upon Israel. So the Bethel "story" is not yet complete, but we see the "writing on the wall" now. Israel had the truth, true, but it still reaped what it sowed, and so will the JW "a system of things" of Bethel weed farming. (Matt13:36-42)
