So how did the cross get started? They simply viewed it as a symbol and then saw it as God's symbol on earth. How do JW's see the JW.ORG? They see it as a symbol of God's true people on earth and view as coming from God himself.

    I don't see the difference....

If I remembe correctly, aside from the pagan-origin line of reasoning, the Society criticized the cross on the grounds that it was an undue symbol of faith elevated to such a status as to constitute idolatry. The same reasoning would apply to the fish, which isn't a pagan symbol (at least I don't think it is).

From that perspective, I honestly don't see the difference in wearing a cross as a symbol of your faith versus a jw.org button.

My 12 year old daughter wants to know if the flags the children are carrying are photo shopped.

I agree, if this is all true and not photo shopped, I am embarrassed for the organisation I once belonged to and identified myself to others as being part of.

I haven't got a photo but the kingdom hall at Wamberal, NSW, Australia has the blue JW.org logo in two places visible to cars driving past. I always used to, out of habit look over ath the hall as I drove past, now I make a conscious effort not to. The commercialism is too hard to take. You may not think so but i still care about Jehovahand do not want to see his name commercialised.

The incredible hulk cuff links at the end show that JW.ORG is agressively pushing their position. Kate xx

Yep...it is certainly a mind blowing situation occurring with the jw.org logos!

It really does my head in. Witnesses are wearing these everywhere...they just look stupid!

Some of the kids are wearing them to school! What, do they want to be persecuted?? Now that would be a badge of honour!

And "welcome" 'awake at last'! Yes, the kingdom halls all have the stupid jw.org logo on them as of this year.... (See this previous thread..)

Remember when the catholic church had their campaign called Come Back Home or something similar? That seemed so out-of-place and commercial, but this button and pin nonsense is so much worse. At least the catholics were just trying to get lapsed ones back....this is trying to get anyone to get on the internet and check out a website.

They get more disturbing every day...the jdubs, I mean.

Is all that stuff for real, or is this a prank?

If it's for real, that is mind blowing! Does anyone remember maybe 8-10 years ago when the WWJD (what would jesus do?) bracelets, t-shirts, etc., were big, and the witnesses were told it was wrong to wear those items? I never received a good explanation of why, and let my kids wear the stuff anyway. I saw nothing wrong with it.

Such hypocrites if this is for real!
