When you examine critically what is taught at the meetings and in publications
it is no wonder the even regular people become weird, then weirder, and finally
graduate to full blown weirdo.
That tends to happen in closed communities where there is nothing to gauge
your weirdness by and make more socially acceptable adjustments.
Agree with sparrow, I think a lot of it has to do with the pressure cooker of JW life combined with the fact that JWs are fenced off from any other viewpoints by constant association with each other.
Do that for 30,40 or 50 years and you start to develop a lot of people who are completely disconnected from reality.
