Finkelstein - the kinds of JW hit and run posters you mention are not the kinds Simon refers to. Yours at least have the "decency" to deposit their little nuggets then vamoose, whereas those Simon refers to hang around and continue firing their nutty beliefs en block - almost in spite of negative reactions from others.

On the matter of just ignoring them, all it takes is one response every gazillion of their posts to "encourage" them to keep up their - usually - extremely long-winded expositions. There seems something almost Aspergers-like about these posters - they just don't get how out of touch their posts are with others.

I wrote somewhere praises to Jah He made me a Rastaman and not a Dub. The oppressed too often unknowingly becomes an oppressor, and if my chauvinism was anywhere hurtful or oppressive I am sorry. But I don't think I'm a religious nut. I'm with the Episcopals, the Secular Humanists, and the Buddhists and I say with no apology that skepticism is a virtue, as great a virtue as faith, perhaps greater, but not as great as Love. So where Jah is Love I am a believer, where Jah is not love I am an atheist. I certainly don't believe in the Jehovah of parents who sacrifice their children at the hospital like They are Abraham, or the Jehovah of disfellowshipping. My Jah is a loving daddy who likes to tell stories and some of his slower children interpret them literally and use as some kind of cure-all science book. And as far as Aspergers like posters, I have Aspergers Yayyy! I should make Special Ed my logo!

I've always found these posters far more annoying than the WT apologists. Most of them never had any connection to JWs, they're just looking for lost, vulnerable souls to exploit with their self-indulgent bs. The crux of their argument is "You've been lied to by the JWs, now let me tell you the right way to worship Jesus."
