Minimus, glad you posted this. I had an elder tell us the watchtower has never ever called themselves or others prophets. Nor will they ever do that. This man is truly a nice man and wouldn't hurt anyone. The elders had put him on us to answer any questions we might have and each time he couldn't answer them but never ratted us out. His assignment was to be in charge of the library at the back(shows you what these idiots thought of him) which was full of outdated publications that went back to the early 1930's. It was fun to watch him work hard yet I wanted to cry at what this wicked org was doing to decent people such as him. He was a very sincere man. Time to give him a visit:)
How Do You Answer Someone Who Says JWs Are Not False Prophets?

Jesus predicted his own return within a generation. His prophesy failed.
Doesn't that prove that Jesus was a false prophet?
The early Christians expected the imminent return of Jesus.
He did not return, doesn't that prove that the early Christians were false prophets also.
The Jws have predicted the return of Jesus, having failed in their prophesy, they try to extend the thought of the generation teaching of Jesus by the illogical idea that multiple generations are still one generation.
Stupid! and proof that they realise that their own prophesies have failed.

The WTS has been involved in false prophecy or falsified bible teachings since its inception as a religious publishing house.
Most the WTS. core doctrines such as Jesus taking position of his heavenly throne and the soon to come GT and Armageddon were devised
to promote the proliferation of the WTS published goods.
Because of this indulgent commercial fraud the first president of the Watchtower Corporation (W Conley) and biggest financial supporter left
and moved on to support another Christian based organization.
.
The WTS. was never a true follower of Christ and the gospel, they were followers of their own literature publishing agenda and
there in lines its inherent corruption.

> The date of the close of that 'battle' is definitely marked in Scripture as October, 1914. It is already in progress, its beginning dating from October, 1874.
Zion's Watch Tower, 15 January 1892, page 1355> We see no reason for changing the figures--nor could we change them if we would. They are, we believe, God's dates, not ours. But bear in mind that the end of 1914 is not the date for the beginning, but for the end of the time of trouble.
Zion's Watch Tower, 15 July 1894, page 1677> The Scriptures show that the second presence [of the Lord] was due in 1874 . . . . This proof shows that the Lord has been present since 1874.
--The Watch Tower, 1 March 1923, page 67> Surely there is not the slightest room for doubt in the mind of a truly consecrated child of God that the Lord Jesus is present and has been since 1874.
--The Watch Tower, 1 January 1924, page 5> jv chap. 5 pp. 46-47 Proclaiming the Lord’s Return (1870-1914)
Russell later stated, "he had much to learn from me on the fulness of restitution based upon the sufficiency of the ransom given for all, as I had much to learn from him concerning time." Barbour succeeded in convincing Russell that Christ’s invisible presence had begun in 1874.
> "We have no doubt whatever in regard to the chronology relating to the dates of 1874, 1914, 1918, and 1925. It was on this line of reckoning that the dates 1874, 1914, and 1918 were located; and the Lord has placed the stamp of his seal upon 1914 and 1918 beyond any possibility of erasure. What further evidence do we need? Using this same measuring line.... it is an easy matter to locate 1925, probably in the fall, for the beginning of the antitypical jubilee. There can be no more question about 1925 than there was about 1914." (Watchtower, p. 150, May 15, 1922)
Time for some waffle:
"We did not say positively that this would be the year."

Is it just a coincidence that the supposed return of Christ happen exactly when the WTS. was founded ?

Anyone who claims to have knowledge of a god, who claims to know the mind, intentions, feelings, and beliefs and purpose of a god . . . is a false prophet.

Something to reflect upon of all the false charlatans that have operated themselves even going back to William Miller in the 1800's (and yes he was selling books too)
to the Watchtower Corporation, Herbert Armstrong , Harold Camping .... there are more to be sure.
They all announced Christ's return and the imminent Armageddon to attract attention to themselves and they all were involved in selling literature or radio stations.
.
But one thing they missed completely was Christ own condemnation of man setting times on god's time.
So there you have it disregarding Christ's own words and direction for the sake of commercialization.

Simon said: The onus is on them to prove that they are *not* false prophets which should be easy if they really have the genuine mojo: "Give us one conclusive clear prophecy that has been correct"
