Help me out, I'm not an attorney (and BOTR is not here to remind everyone of that): Does this mean that the oral argements (pro and con) regarding the WTS appeal are going to be heard on December 10? Or does it mean something else?

Significant new authority? Is this similar to a PMQ? Could be reference to case law too I suppose. Maybe the judgement in San Diego.

An authority is the same as a precendent, so in essense there is a new principle or rule (precedent probably from another similar case) which can be used in this case, and was not available at the time of briefing ( a written explanation of the case by a stakeholder)

Sir82: yes. Although dont consider it set in stone. Some courts will reschedule if an attorney has a planned vacation, another trial, hearing, etc.
New authority is just a case that has been decided since the briefing was done (which was a long time ago in this case) that is relevant to an issue involved.

My heart goes out to Candace conti , keep in their , keep your chin up and with the moral support you get from this board I hope you continue to fight for what is your right and that is justice , justice for you and everybody else who has been abused by people in authourity or just members of this religion who have taken advantage of young or vulnerable members of the jehovahs witnesses religion to abuse them.
It must be a strain and telling on your physical and emotional well being after all this time ,, whereby the WT wants you to cave in , dragging it out as long as they can .
I`m sure everybody here is behind you Candace Conti , you have gone this far , see it to the end .

My thoughts are certainly with Candace Conti. I sure hope this puts an end to this legal battle you bravely took on.
I hope she knows no matter what the outcome is she has made a huge difference, because of her strength many others have come forward to expose this religion for what they are.
We may not be there physically in the courtroom, but we will be cheering her on in spirit!!
