Letter was read at the meeting tonight during the service meeting. Probably because of the Dateline thing.
Several points brought out, cant remember them all:
1) Sexual abuse is bad
2) Sexual abusers can not hold "teaching positions"
3) There must be 2 witnesses, etc, etc,
there was more, but I cant remember it all.

They weren't watching dateline, they were at the service meeting <G>..
They'll learn all about dateline over the next few weeks when out in Field Service!!!!
Two witnesses?!! That is helpful to all the potential abusers..."note to self, no more than one witness". They are despicable.

Having 2 witnesses is for normal situations, not the unusual. In ancient Israel it was also the normal law that no blood be eaten under penalty of death yet at 1 Sa 14:32-5 Saul's whole army ate unBLED meat to stay alive and weren't killed, and in Matthew 12 Christ says David's men ate holy temple bread (death penalty) but were not killed as it was an emergency situation.
They get hung up repeating the verse "Jehovah does not provide an EXEMPTION." This is true ONLY in normal situations not emergencies where children's and also adult lives are at stake. They stick to their falsehood I do believe because Leo Greenlees was a pedophile while on the Gov Body and lots of other pedophiles are also now in their leadership positions.

I don't have a TV, so I went to my dad&stepmom's place to watch it... In the course of explaining to my stepmom (never a JW) why I thought it was going to be interesting, I mentioned the 2 witness thing.
She went ballistic, and people all over the U.S. are doing the same =)

One of my friends, who is still a JW, told me that an elderly sister called her to tell her to be sure and watch Dateline. It seems in that congregation, they thought the Assembly day announcement was to tell them to watch it, not avoid it. Too funny!!
