Howdy Angry,
When an organization arrogates to itself un-Scriptural powers and authorities and then threatens people who do not submit to it with un-Scriptural punishment, then that organization becomes a racket. --Fred Franz (1943)
What a timely quote from a famous JW spiritual leader! And thus proving that Jehovah's Witnesses are "a racket and snare" just like all the other religions they called that. In fact, that's what some JW's are agreeing with - "We're no worse than the Catholics".
Some good points already made as to why REALLY JW's wouldn't be intereviewed:
1. JW's are not taught how to discuss - but follow the written word of the WTBTS. If their lawyers were interviewed, some thoughtful reporter might have asked why a lawyer represents them instead of a spiritual leader - such as the Catholics do (Cardinals, etc.)
2. It most likely would have even been a more of a PR nightmare if the JW's refused on camera to answers questions. And JW's like their "confidentiality."
3. The rank & file have been taught that the elders have "Jehovah's spirit." They used to say "chosen by Jehovah's spirit" - but that got dicey. Totally unprovable - but the locals bought it. Now the problem is........is Jehovah's spirit THAT unreliable?
4. Unqualified elders are a big part of the problem - but the organization who put them in power is also a big part of the problem.
5. They won't go speak against their brothers - that's what they use to keep docile jw's from going to the police too! What would the world think of "Jehovah's people?"
6. Of course, they wouldn't appear on a show with apostates either - sharing conversation with Satan's seed.
The WTBTS is doing what it's always done........cover both sides of the bet. Only this time - it was made public on a national news show. Lol, bet there's some sweat cracks left in chairs this morning!

It really kills me.....You know even the Catholic Church got on TV and expressed that they had empathy for the victims and their families... they even admitted that there was a problem, and said they would work to correct it. NOT ONCE did JR BROWN say anything to console the family, as you would think a 'loving elder' would do. What makes them feel so 'almighty' that they can't acknowledge the victims. Not to mention the fact that they probably didn't want to have to answer why their 'policy' is to protect children, yet they on tape encouraged Bill to just 'take their word for it, and not get yourself in a bind' (not exact words, but you get the point). In the state I live in, you are REQUIRED BY LAW to report abuse even if you only "SUSPECT" it and may have no direct knowledge of it. Now, if the secular governemnt, Satan's world if you will, requires that, shouldn't a "divine organization" such as the WBTS require more???? UGH they disgust me!!!

MacHislopp
Hello everyone,
I'll be back with more comments,
but just this one now:from Joel:
1) "That is why meetings are designed to be structured question/answer and not Bible discussion as most religions use. Questions are not encouraged. This is true even with home Bible studies. They are supposed to answer out of the book. "
2) "If they have questions not answered in the paragraph, rarely do they progress towards being a Jehovah's Witness."
and also :
3) "That is also the real reason why witnesses do not come to this site to discuss real issues. "
Excellent comments, right to the core of the actual problems.
Nicely written and in a very positive and truthful way.
Well done Joel!Greeting, J.C.MacHislopp"
