That means be your own person based on the limited amount of crafted information the WTBTS provides for you. All JWs are perfectly free to be whomever they want within the parameters designed by the WTBTS. It's called being a free moral agent.

"Be your own person. We will add your biological distinctiveness to us and serves us as the BORG. Resistance is futile. We wish only to raise the quality of life for all species. Your life as it has been is over. From this time forward you will serve only us, only the BORG. A neural transceiver is required for maximum communication. Freedom is irrelevant. Self-determination is irrelevant. Be your own person."

LOL!!! I just watched the Voyager episode called "Distant Origin" last night. It's one of my favorites. That scientist was free to be his own person while studying metalurgy in a private lab for the rest of his life.

Of course! They've learned from their God.
Jehovah in the garden of Eden, to Adam: "You have free will. It's free! Do what you like! Of course, if you use it in a way I don't approve of, I'll kill you, but hey! It's your choice!"
JW.org video: "Hey teens! Be your own person! Do what you like! Of course, if you commit any of these 'serious sins' listed in our secret elders' manual, we'll force you to be shunned by every person whom you care about, but hey! It's your choice!"
Yes indeed!
Hypocrisy at its best!
Remember JW.ORG also has a wonderful section on "whats a real friend?" That was full of the same sort of blatent hypocrisy!
The YPA articles and other stuff for youth have such a different tone than the 'real JW teachings' it's not even funny. Go check out the last set of YPA articles on homosexuality.
The dec awake has an article about the art of compromise, quote: "compromise requires an open mind"
b&s you'll never see anything like that in their magazines
The awake mag is intended for public consumption, for recruitment purposes, and as such seem almost normal.
