Letter to BOE - "Cautions Regarding Shepherding of Sisters"?

Many men in power cannot abide the prospect that others who are brighter, smarter and more capable could step into their shoes.

A religion fiercely based on patriarchal rulership needs to keep females in their right place. Patriarchy has its own internal justification for doing so.

BTW, most shepherds, sooner or later, round up the sheep they've been protecting for the abbattoir. Shepherding is seldom sweetness and light - something modern civilization sheilds itself from.

The violence of shepherding nicely captures the razor-sharp blood lust down on the farm. Excuse me whilst I tuck into my lamb chop.

    Interesting post , Steve.

I always thought of the loving Shepherd pics in JW literature, esp. searching and recovering the 1 lost.

And the loving Shepherd embracing the little lamb into his bosom.

Yet, at the end of the day, just something to put in our stomachs.

I am going to protect you so that you can be slaughtered for my plate. (Party on Garth.)

    It just doesn't compute.

With my limited English, I misread the title, I thought the elders were warned against sisters who were too ambitious in their caring for the flock. and of course they are instructed to teach the younger women in the congregation.

    Patriarchs, do not allow competition!.
