Thanks for bringing that up, steve. You're right. The GB aren't profiting from this.
It's just a new attitude from individual JWs who, in the past, likely would have looked down on profiting from the Truth. At least in my experience.

"JW.ORG is not copyrighted or trademarked; it was taken."
Oh right, it is too similar to "Janitor's World", wasn't that the case? Or was it Jackson Walker Attorneys? LOL
"And Sparlock is also NOT copyrighted or trademarked. Hint Hint."
Are you pondering what I'm pondering? JW obviously stands for "Jolly Wizard"! Meaning that Sparlock the Jolly Wizard brings presents to all the children on Pantsmas Eve! Sparlock is everybody's favorite JW!

A "JW.Org" tramp stamp would be priceless.
I can see the committee meeting now: "It wasn't porneia it was preaching."
steve2 - "To be fair, though, this does not necessarily mean the GB endorse or profit from this merchandising."
I don't see them counseling against it, either, which would be the expected response.
Silence can speak volumes.
Another excellently geared maneuver by the GB. This is what they were wanting.
Good point Vidiot - I hadn't thought of that.

All while WT simultaneously shuts down Youtube videos and websites for "copyright infringement" when they post WT quotes and videos without WT consent.
As Vidiot said, WT's silence Re: merchandising, speaks volumes. If WT had a problem with it, they'd go after JW merchandizers with the same enthusiasm they use against Youtubers.
