One dictionary defines naive as;Generally speaking,to be naive means you do not think enough.People who are "naive" tend to beleive in whatever they are told,without questioning whether it is right or wrong.I think this defines JW because they accept whatever the group of 7 tells them.EX.The several definations of a generation.Or the end is near see wt 2000 etc.

One caveat not all Jw are naive.There are many who are intellegent and stay in just waiting for the right time to escape.

Which, in a weird way, ends up reinforcing the other posts in this thread.
Once all the intellectioals, creative types, and out-of-the-box thinkers are gone (and the vast majority are by now) the Org is left with a Worldwide body of morons.
I used to think that the WTS was shooting itself in the foot by alienating those types of people (after all, they're the ones that help keep a secular organization thiving), until I was forced to come to the conclusion that they were doing it on purpose to prune the R&F down to a smaller, more manageable membership of hard-core loyalists.
I would say, in their defence, they are under strong mind control and bombarded with logical fallacies, propaganda techniques and all.
Guilt, fear, phobia, familial attachment...they are under heavy duty fire from the watchtower's propaganda machine.
It isn't all about being naive as such but about how controlled their minds are.
Even thinking people fall foul of con tricks.
The worst thing is that they are NOT stupid, but are accepting the training of dulling the mind. Just keep repeating the same thing over and over until that becomes the reply, not thought or critical thinking. Just repeating what has been driven into their heads.
How do you bring out the critical thinking when it has been conditioned to the back of your brain?
