They like to play the game that they don't do this or that, but do it anyway and call it something else.

Maybe they have that "Rule" so they catch all the sales after the "Worldly People Holidays".

Maybe, but isn't that still eating from the tables of deamons? Scraps at the least?

Wasnt it Daniel chap. 9 that talked about Jesus being cut off in the half of the week (year).which would equal 6 months.

Since the date of his death was definitely spring (Easter) that would make six months prior the fall of the year.

Someone else can come along and explain it better - !

The WTS taught Christmas was the date of Jesus begetting in the womb....see the 1904 quote.  Count forward from the end of December and you get to the end of September/beginning of October (October 1 said to be the birth of Jesus)

Even though Christmas is not the real anniversary of our Lord's birth, but more properly the annunciation day or the date of his human begetting (Luke 1:28), nevertheless, since the celebration of our Lord's birth is not a matter of divine appointment or injunction, but merely a tribute of respect to him, it is not necessary for us to quibble particularly about the date. We may as well join with the civilized world in celebrating the grand event on the day which the majority celebrate - "Christmas day."" Zion's Watch Tower 1904 Dec 1 p.364

    Absolutely fascinating.

I had never heard that before. I have learned something new about the religion I wasted so much time in.

    Thanks Blondie. I am gobsmacked!

One of the possible reasons why December 25th was chosen as Christ's birth was that some early Christians thought Jesus was conceived on March 25th - March, Spring, new life, God created the world then, day of a prophet's conception would be the day of his death (Jesus' conception day = his crucifixion day) - all sorts of symbolisms.
