  Here's some gossip: Every single one of the governing body members in the fall of 1978 knew that brothers in Mexico were obtaining military certificates in order to abstain from military service whilst they were printing in the Watchtower what a fine example the families in Malawi were who were willing to die instead. They did nothing.

  This thread shows the board's common-sense side. They have refused to nibble on the bait, and have thrown in a couple of satiric responses meant to defuse the situation.

  It being a free-speech board, yes some people will come in here and post baseless rumors. But most of the time our well-worn skepticism comes through, and the truth usually becomes apparent.

  The reason I read the thread was, I was wondering if there was a rumor that any governing body member may have become a Christian.
