Letter Fedexed To All Congregations

  My brother sent me this email:
  
  At the Kingdom Hall last night the PO read a letter that the Society had Fedexed to all congregations debriefing the friends on the Dateline program.

  Basically they said that Jehovah's Witnesses do not harbor, endorse or support Pedophiles and every since 1997 they have instructed the Elders to bring to the attention of the local authorities any person who was guilty of child molestation. The letter quoted past articles from the late 1980's showing that they have been hard on Child Molestation.

  But they never addressed how this woman Erica was treated.

  I found this point interesting

  any person who was guilty of child molestation

  To me that implies that they would investigate themselves first, which has been brought out over and over again they are simply not qualified to do.

  This letter was sent in an effort to protect their corporate image. That's is the only thing that really matters to them.

  It seems that "Jehovah's organization" has a hard time keep their story straight.

  Dunno why - they had the time - but this smacks of short notice work.

  No real though to damage control or diverting attention or anything (IE., not trying to make it a 'sign of the end', etc.). Just the standard, canned, 'apostates always lie whenever they open their mouths' defense.

  It doesn't address any issues raised that the R&F will meet door to door, which is terrible planning because 'LIES, ALL LIES' won't go over well with the householder when they question the witnesses. All the householder has to do is ask 'OK, how many HAVE been turned in to the authorities?' Remembering that Dateline only had 2, and in both cases, the attacker was worldly.

  The WTBTS obviously doesn't think the Dateline piece is any kind of threat, but why? With the ratings it got, surely they realize they are going to be facing a few tough questions door to door?

  I would love to see a copy posted of one of those letters, because I notice that you said 'ever since 1997 they have instructed the Elders to bring to the attention of the local authorities any person who was guilty of child molestation.'

  The problem has been and is now (from what I've seen), that the elders are determining WHO IS GUILTY, instead of letting trained professionals investigate the situation and they are slapping people on the wrist instead of turning them in and then later letting them back into the congregation after sufficient 'repentance' is displayed.

  Thanks for the post, Dutchie. The Tower has been exposed on national TV, and now the spin-doctors are trying to cover their butts. Sending the Fedexed letter to all congregations shows the Tower is very concerned about being exposed on prime-time TV. Of course some Dubs will believe white is black if Mommy-Tower says it, but JWs saw and heard the Tower's dirty laundry, which could help many see behind the wizard's curtain.

  They only report those guilt of molestation? And who decides whether they are guilty or not until they have been reported and investigated by the proper authorities?

  of course little childrens MOLESTERS are not found GUILTY, cause they don't have TWO WITNESSES.......so, THE ACCUSING MOLESTED CHILD is punished.

  it's a nice "side step"......from the gov body.
  instead of addressing the issue, they address "how to cover it up", without making any "real changes".
