Hey, I was "counciled" 20-(ahem)-something years ago about Star Trek (and Star Wars). They were "not fit for the spiritually minded because WE KNOW what Jehovah's plans for our future are..."

This gives me two thoughts:

1. What does it mean that I've remembered that conversation so clearly for allllll these years, and
2. Of course, that was back when "this generation" meant those who were at least 13 or 14 in 1914. Maybe now that the "generation thing" has stretched out apparently into infinity, Star Trek is OK because we still may be in "the last days" in the 23rd century....

Oh my......I must must must become a member over there - that sounds like just oodles of fun doesn't it gals? Why - we could really work our little ole' brain cells by studying those articles while strengthening our resolve to always always always support the organization at any cost - no matter what. What a grand idea - let's go girls...after all, Where else is there to go?

Dateline NBC
Hello everyone. I don't visit here often because besides having four children, a job and being a full time pioneer, I also have two studies and the meetings to attend. However, tonight I feel the need to be among the friends. Last night I made a terrible mistake. I watched that Dateline show about Jehovah's Witnesses and became so ill I could hardly get up this morning.

I really cannot believe those things happen in Jehovah's pure organization. Isn't Jehovah's holy spirit over his people. protecting us? I know I could blame all of this on Satan, but maybe we shouldn't blame everything on Satan. Somethings come about just because of human imperfection.

Anyway, I don't what is true and what is not true. Thank you for letting me vent a little.

Satan wants us to have doubts and he uses this type of propaganda to sew the seeds. To find comfort I would suggest going to the offical site and viewing the videos and reading what "mother" has to say.

Margie... I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that we have to close this thread, since the public area of this site is not meant for discussions of potentially controverisal topics. But primarily, I would really advise you to speak to an elder or some other spiritually mature friend. There are real imperfections in Jehovah's organization, and dealing with them can be the severest trial of all, but they're nothing new... and being discouraged by them is nothing to be ashamed of. So please, talk to someone about it.
