If you found out TTATT at 80 and spent your entire life at Bethel, what would you do?

I figured it out in my 50's tho I had serious doubts and questions from my early 20's. Both my parents had doubts before they died....but they both said 'it is still the truth'.....my Dad blew raspberries when I asked him what he thought about 1914 (this was well before the over-lapping generation excuse). My Mom called not celebrating birthdays and holidays ' a load of crap'....so they knew, but for whatever their reasons, they hung on.

I've been a fader, and have faded so deep that I'm nearly invisible. Haven't managed much of a social life rebuild, but still happy to not be wading chin deep in bull manure.

Well, at 80 you have no marketable skills, no 401k, and likely no children. Social Security, maybe. You're pretty much screwed.

I'd f@ck as many whores as I could find until approaching death, poison myself with something that gives you a nice death and just before dying I would take a shotgun and blast every GB member. Would go out with a bang, LOL.

I would do a porno with other 80 year olds from the local assisted living facility, and use the JW studio. It would be next months broadcast.

I have a 94 year elderly sister friend that I’ve known for about 45 years. She still pioneers and has relatively good health. She told me she knows for a fact that she will not die because she has sacrificed everything and Jehovah will reward her for all her sacrifices. I will never tell her the truth at this point. What good would it do?

I agree John Aquilla, we have aged parents and tried to wake them up. Caused them much grief so we backed off. I could cry when I see the old "faithful" ones. They could not handle the truth. I do believe God knows their hearts.

I was 60 and hubby (slightly younger) when we learned TTATT. We are third gen with no family who have left except my daughter. We got caught in the financial crash at the same time as loosing our religion. It was NOT easy but we have started our entire lives over. We are SO GLAD to be out from under the weight of the WTBT$ !

I know 80 is much different than 60 but I guess my point is: when people are ready they will leave. If not, they won't.

If the 80 yo doesn't find TTATT on their own it would not be kind to tell it to them.

3rdgen, I hadn't heard your story before. You're very brave. I hope you, your husband and your daughter are building a happy new life.

In all honesty, recognizing how emotionally troubling it was after only 26 years id probably kill myself. I'm just being honest. The thoughts were there for years during the time I doubted and one night I probably would have died if not for my best friend. So after 80 years? I'm confident I'd kill myself.

This is why while I will aggressively work to end this religion going forward I will not try to bring people out all the time. Some people just wouldn't benefit from that at all, they may not be able to handle it.
