I am not likely to find out first-hand what the reactions of the householders will be, since I no longer peddle religion from door to door.

However, it is human nature to reject beliefs and attitudes that conflict with your own. This rejection is not necessarily done in a spirit of violence or meanness. Therefore it is likely that the reaction will be nothing more than a firmer resolve of the general public not to have anything to do with that kooky religion known as Jehovahs Witnesses. If the public perception is that JWs value their reputation over the safety of children by hiding child molesters then their message will be rejected, probably without even mentioning the issue.

There are many reasons why I wouldnt become a Mormon (for example), but I wouldnt engage in a lengthy discussion as to my reasons on the doorstep. I wouldnt see the need; I would just persist in saying no thanks.

So, IMHO, thats what Dateline will do cause a steady decline in the number of people prepared to discuss the JW religion.

P.S. In CANADA, Smarties are round chocolates with colored candy-coating! Similar to M&M's but not quite the same. My daughter remembers them so fondly (we lived there during her formative years lol) that I am requested to bring them home like contraband whenever I spend time across the border.

How much of the information about the abuse coverup w/in the borg is for those non-belivers or those blindly following a man-made organization? Who will it effect the most?

I really doubt that anyone not involved (or knowing someone involved) with the jws would get too riled about this. Speaking from experience, when the "Catholic" coverup had been exposed, I didn't run around to every Catholic I knew and shove this in their face. But you can be damn sure I spoke my opinions about it amongst friends.

The airing of the Dateline isn't going to be the end of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Hopefully it will be an eyeopener to those blindly following a bunch of men who have their heads up their asses (oopppss...did I say that? *grin*)

I am so glad that I no longer have to devote so much time peddling my beliefs....worried about how am I going to respond to people's questions about allegations of a coverup of pedofiles, worried that if I don't put in a certain amount of time door knocking that the elders are going to question what I have been up to. I am so glad that I can watch cartoons on Saturday morning if I chose to and not feel guilty about it.

The average person you'll meet out in service isn't going to want a confrontation at his own door. But they do know about it. My little community knows I am an inactive witness. I can't count how many people have asked me about JW child molestors.

Average person doesn't want you at his door, trust me but you know that James. It isn't huge but it isn't huge over the Catholic Church either.

But you can bet bible studies will drop off. When someone tells their family they are thinking about studying with witnesses that dateline show is going to pop up in a conversation. People in my area are directed here and to silentlambs.

The full effect of Dateline will not come into being until the end of the "Dateline Times." This period of seven times (a time equals 360 years according to the lunar calendar) corresponds to the 2300 mornings mentioned in the book of Daniel. According to the formula "a year for a day" we would expect the end of the Dateline Times to come in 2300 mornings from the original broadcast date. Hey I figured out where to buy the Anointed Antenna to catch the final airing of Dateline, at the end of Dateline times.

They carry a pair of Anointed Antenna in the Radio Shack, located in the Main Shaft of the Great Pyramid!!

You do realize, of course, that the airing of Dateline is one more piece of evidence that the "world" is persecuting Jehovah's true followers. Therefore, I feel it is only right for you to turn over all of your worldly possessions to those of us who will enjoy them for such a short time.....months, perhaps, but not much longer than that.

You, on the other hand, should secrete yourself in a cave or an attic stocked with lots and lots of spiritual food. You should emerge only to preach "this Good News of the Kingdom", since the time is very, very short.

We will utilize your worldy goods in a final paroxsysm of gluttonous apostate greed, while you continue in faithful service. Don't worry, you'll be able to reclaim everything--AND MORE--right after you have been delivered into a Paradise Earth. It's coming quickly, very quickly. Don't delay!!!
