I think that any job that involves customer service or dealing with the public really sucks! I used to be a bank teller for 4 years, I finally got fired for letting this one obnoxious customer really have it!
Some of the worst type of customers were the ones who left their brains who knows where. Is it too difficult to add 100 plus 100? Since when can you get a 3 dollar bill from a bank? Ok, so you don't know your account number. Do you know your name? Or am I supposed to guess that too?(teller=mindreader?)
Is it too hard to have your stuff ready before you stand before me? Why do some people insist on staring off into space while standing on line, only to get up to me and not have a deposit or payment slip, not endorse their checks, not have ID? Could you have done that while you were on line???
Worse than the customers (members, since I worked at a credit union) was the management. Reminded me of the GB, constantly changing the rules when something went wrong. It didn't matter if the teller did everything he/she was taught to do, if money was lost due to fraud or theft, it was his/her fault for not following "procedure" whatever that procedure was at that particular moment.
NEEDLESS to say, I DONT miss my job one bit! I'll just sit on my arse for a while and collect unemployment
Anyone else out there with similar experiences? Or are some jobs out there actually worse than a teller's? ( cant even imagine it!)
