Type and Anti-Type, the killing of the Faithful and Discreet Slave. Whats thier angle and how do they spin out of this one?

  It would seam that the changing of the type anti-type teaching kills their claim as the Faithful and discreet slave class as it is only a parable according to Peter at Luke 12:41. Obviously I don't think they will ever come out and actually say that the F&DS is just a parable, so when one asks what will the answer be, to spin out of this obvious problem?

  Also what do you think is the reason for the change in this teaching? Is it more to do with getting rid of doctrine that can be criticized or could it be that they are trying to make it as though they are really not in control of the congregations so as to say we aren't responsible when the prosecution comes knocking over future pedophile case? Or some thing completely different? Last question, do you think they really thought it through when they decided to drop this type anti type teaching because it does really poke a major hole in their claim of being something they are not?

  What were they thinking?? They were thinking, " We are the channel of GOD. The R&F will accept whatever we say. If not, we will DF them."

  I believe their goal is to keep all the really ignorant, and poor non-critical thinkers. Think about it: INTJ or INTP personalities ( which many of us are ) are a small percentage of the population. We are vastly outnumbered.

  As a cult, which would you prefer, critical thinkers or millions of j-dumbs? The growth in the ORG is from non-white poor. Imagine the potential income from an average KH where every poor family give 5$ a week, versus a critical thinker who watches Stephen Lett and says, " WTF?!?!"

  They think they will get away with it, just like they always have. Unless there is a God who has been terribly misrepresented and is going to act, they will get away with it.

  I don't think there is an angle. I believe that the organization had to come to grips with an error without admitting that it has been in error.

  Identification of the F&DS is not difficult at all if one listens to Christ (and not men).

  Jesus asked the question at Matthew 24:45:

  Who REALLY is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?

  A close examination of Matthew 24:48-51 gives a clear answer.
  The F&DS WOULD NOT be concerned with ascertaining dates of his Masters arrival. It would be the evil slave who would be concerned with dates.
  The WTBTS had foretold 1914 has being that date. Jesus had already said at Matthew 24:42: "Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU do not know on what day YOUR Lord is coming."
  Yet, the WTBTS has taught that it DOES KNOW when the Lord is coming and announce it as 1914. This shows that it has not obeyed it's Master and it has not been watchful. It has longed ceased being watchful. Since it is no longer keeping "on the watch," false teachings have entered in. The WTBTS is an evil slave, not a F&DS.
  The F&DS will not be concerned with dates, times and seasons. This slave will remember and obey what it Master told them: "Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU do not know on what day YOUR Lord is coming."
  This F&DS today are persons who reject any teaching that is contrary to what Christ said at Matthew 24:42. Because of their stand and obedience to Christ, the evil slave (who teaches dates) beat them in a proverbial sense for rejecting "organizational teachings" and being faithful to their true Master, Jesus Christ.
  Any who have been a JW or who is currently one knows full well the pressure the JW is placed under to conform to organizational rules and regulations and unquestionable acceptance of its teachings. If you doubt or question, you will be "beaten."
  The F&DS slave is truly discreet. How so? Because they are not numerous and not easily identified. They do not belong to any religious organization on earth and fully recognize that God's Kingdom is not on earth in any form. That is why they place faith in the invisible God and approach him in steadfast prayer - through the only channel made available, Christ Jesus - and they receive via that channel.
  They do not seek answers through a book man stood up and made holy and gave a name to (the Bible). They do not accept that the Bible which came many years after Christ ascended as "The Word of God." They are faithful in a discreet way (not like the rest of the world) and accept only ONE as "The Word of God," Christ Jesus.
  They do not recognize organizations of men on earth as channels by which God uses. No! They KNOW that there is only One Way, One Truth and One Life.
  This F&DS places his/her full reliance and trust not in what can be seen (Bibles, books, men, and their organizations), but places their trust and faith in that which they cannot see: The Invisible God and His Son.
  That is what faith is according to the Apostle Paul:
  

  Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld

  It takes no faith to believe in what one can see (Bibles, books, men and organizations).
  Discreetness is exercising faith in what one cannot see.
  The WTBTS and indeed ALL religious organizations have misled the world by placing visible icons in from of them. These icons being Bibles, Korans, organizations, men of so-called renown and actually making the people revere and bow down to those things. Open your eyes!
  People are not made spiritual but carnal. They are made indiscreet and trusting of those icons.
  If one is indiscreet, they cannot be spiritual. Jesus said that our worship to the Father MUST be with spirit and truth. Spirit cannot be seen.
  

  Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.

  Sadly, a F&DS would be rejected by this world and its religions as the world rejected Christ.
  The very ones within the WTBTS claiming to be a F&DS are not that at all. They are impostors.

  Believe it or not, The Watchtower has begun referring to the Faithful & Discreet Slave scriptures as a "parable:"

  6 What basic message do we learn from this parable? Remember the context of the Bible account. In Matthew chapter 24, Jesus discussed “the faithful and discreet slave.” That slave would be a small group of anointed men who would take the lead among Christ’s followers during the last days. Jesus warned those men that they must remain faithful. In the next chapter, Jesus uses the parable of the ten virgins to counsel all his anointed followers in the last days. The message was to “keep on the watch” so that they would not lose their heavenly reward. (Matthew 25:13) Let us now examine the parable and see how the anointed have applied the counsel.

  When answering the apostles’ question concerning his future presence and the conclusion of the existing system of things, Jesus Christ included a parable, or illustration, dealing with a “faithful and discreet slave.” The faithful slave’s master appointed him over his domestics, or household servants, to provide them their food. If approved at his master’s coming (evidently from some trip), the slave would be rewarded by being placed over all the master’s belongings.—Mt 24:3, 45-51.

  Sometimes I think they just change stuff to keep people interested. The meetings are so dull and the conventions are worse, so they have to throw in a little new light every now and again to spice things up a bit. They don't really care if the new light undermines a core doctrine that they still hold (as is the case with the abandonment of the types/antitypes as it relates to the FDS and 1914) because the R/F are, for the most part, willing to accept things as they're told. The few that do leave because of changes are easily demonized and provide an enemy to rally against and it pulls those who remain closer together. It has nothing to do with doctrine, it's just about looking busy.

  I found it interesting/telling that they have study articles focused on the 3 parables after the one about the faithful and discreet slave, but skip right over the parable about the faithful and discreet slave. I'm so done with this GB.

  The WTS seems to have invented a new category of Bible account - the "prophetic parable". They consider Matthew 24:45-47 to be both a parable and a prophecy.

  When you proclaim yourself the "spokesman for God", and you start believing your own hype, you can come up with a whole lot of hooey.

  True, they (WBTS) admit it is a parable, like the 10 virgins and talents and sheep/goat but apply them as a prophecy. In the study article, they ask "When will this illustration be fulfilled" or " when this illustration will have its climax".

  So, as usual the play with words, create their own definition and play mindgames.

  The anti types and types are blanketly repudiated because over the last 140 years or so, they have made a lot of claims about them being significant/ prophetic in various ways. They dumped all kinds of conclusions/speculations that have proven over time to be nonsense. So far as JWs are concerned it is now water under the bridge. They did leave a loophole so they can do it more if they want to.

  Hold Me-Thrill Me

  Ray Franz said the old FDS teaching did not hold water because the anointed around the world did not truly teach or control a thing in the Watchtower. The change only caught up with the reality Ray Franz talked about.

  Perhaps someone at Bethel read his book.
