The Bananas must have arrived from Central America on the "Big Sailboat" my mom claimed we would have in the New System. :)

I feel sorry for poor Brother Stanley 😞. He really has his work cut out, producing the tools to rebuild the entire planet!

when I was much younger than I am now, Mom, Uncle B and my aunt and a cousin toured Brooklyn Bethel. Many of the original paintings used as Watchtower illustrations hung in hallways. They were well-executed paintings. When translated to publication illustrations all that was lost, and they became quite ugly.

I wondered why they didn't use sketches and line drawings that would have translated to the page more effectively. Today, of course, they can print photographs which translate to text illustrations more clearly.

I see a lot of apples, bananas, and tomatoes in most WT paradise depictions, and there is usually a snow-capped mountain in the background. The art department guys in NYC didn't get out much, or even garden or farm. lol. :)

The imaginative ideas of paradise earth originated with the illustrators at Bethel, not the writers. As they produced their pen and ink, then oil on canvas fantasies, each became more far-fetched than the previous. I can honestly say that they were the driving force behind the teaching. The writers were often amazed when they saw the dream-scape creations that accompanied their articles. Of course the readers assumed that the WTC had received the inspiration directly from God.

In this Chicken/Egg scenario, the illustrators came before the teachings.
