joelbear, first of all, i just wanted to say that i have enjoyed the positivity and kindness of your posts. i too was baptized at 14 and i don't think anyone can make a binding agreement for lifelong loyalty to any organization. when the elders came to me after years of seperation, i told them this, and my reasoning was flatly denied even though i never tried to take back my dedication to jehovah. they seem to view dedication to jehovah as inseperable to dedication to the organization.
wow, my first post. freaky.
You did mean your first topic didn't you?
I have an enormously strong aversion to lying
Joelbear,
So do I. I hate lying and being lied to. The way I see it, the WTS took to lying and deception long before I came along to be seduced by them. *I* did not lie at my baptism---they did.
Don't let it bother you, as the whole matter is null and void, kiddo.
hugs,
Annie
