50 years today

  Happy 50, Lady Lee. It is a significant birthday indeed. I remember when I hit the big five oh thinking that I was in for a change. Nope, just life as usual. I kind of like being in my fifties myself. When I get ornery or pull a blunder, I just write it off to being over 50. Now, I'm just waiting for someone to actually buy that excuse.

  My mind tells me I am still in my twenties. Then, my body says, "oh yeah? Feel this!"

  I hope we all have many more birthdays and that yours today was a very enjoyable one.

  Here is to many, many more! You are such a treat to this DB, I have always enjoyed your posts. It is weird the other day my mother was talking to me and reminded me that I had notified the authorities and accused her of physical abuse when I was younger. She was giving me the old guilt trip about almost losing her nursing license and could have went to jail etc. My response was...I carried the bruises didn't I? Even though I have forgiven her for all of the abuse she and my father have done to me, she is not even able to admit that she abused us. This was over 15 years ago, and at the time the authorities would investigate then move one. I am so thankful they are educating more! Teachers, Drs. nurses, anyone who comes in contact with children are aware of the signs to look for now, and many more children are being saved, not enough, but more than 15 years ago. Again, I thank you for your contributions, I always learn something from them.

  50 is sooooooooo yesterday to me. Well, actually it's 3 years past me. Congratulations on the many successes in your life - and your ability to help others. It's appreciated - even just the chance to chat back & forth.

  Lady Lee......thank-you for the post. I too turned fifty this week. I also believe that if it hadn't been for the 12 step Program, I wouldn't have made it. Such power in 'those rooms'. I was told by WBTS agents 'well, just remember, God's spirit isn't down there'. How blessed I've been to see so many miracles unfold in so many lives. How I am ever going to repay the debt? Peace to you as we all move ahead, 'one day at a time'.
