I beg to differ with you. The earth "may be billions" of years old, but "life" in early animal form is not that old. Dinos are not "that" old.
Scientists are rethinking the fact that they've been throwing around these "years" like nothing, and are becoming more reasonably accurate on dating as we speak.

Ok. Some of them were these great big creatures who were pretty mean. And none of them spoke or understood English. Well, the last part is conjecture on my part.
