    Interesting....

I know of 4 young people that have stopped attending meetings in my area in the past few weeks. I also just heard about a married brother with a couple of kids in a neighbouring congregation that has said he does not want to attend any more. According to the local grapevine it's because he is too into his high powered job and frequent global travel.

Being an instagram follower of him and seeing a few of his posts regarding science I suspect the reality is somewhat closer to him realising TTATT rather than Satan luring him away with his evil job...

Perhaps not having enough youth reaching out to fill management positions is one of the reasons they are pushing for child baptisms. Lock them in early with fear and obligation and then put the work on their shoulders as soon as they are able.

Agree with oppostate. I have attended Hispanic congregations for 20 years and the third group (the social JW's) there is big. Even some uber JW's such as my own brother are relaxing their zeal. He no longer pursues giving biblical studies. He spends more time in the gym than he does in meetings. He supports his children with opening their own businesses and encourages, even insists in their getting higher education. But, as he once said to me, he is planning to die in this religion. I think he feels he is stuck for social reasons. Habits such as his are hard to break.

I think you pretty much summed up the group we were a part of , and that was more than 20 years ago when we exited .We had a great social life among our group which was mainly made up of Elders and MS and their wives.and children .

And we lived in S.E .Qld .Australia
