Since the WT organization claims 'apostolic succession " who was it that passed the torch to C.T. Russell who founded this organization of sheeple? What was his or its name? Ask judge Rutherford, or Milton Henschel, maybe they know. I doubt it because there was no one. People will persecute for a false belief system. At least have a proper origin, history weeds out cults in the end. No proof, no basis. -

wt hd a vague list of the unbroken line of the Faithful& Discreet Slave class, but now succession does not matter, the "slave" only started in 1919. Peter, Paul, John, Martin, Isaac, all redundant. -

Wasn't it George Storrs who passed the baton to CTR, and Henry Grew passed it it George...? -

Yes, Russel was just the originator of The Watchtower. They pretty much discredited everything he did. -

Oh didn't you all know??
Jesus PERSONALLY chose CT Russell and in turn the GB today!
The GB self-referentially wrote about this with that classic quote :
"Since Jehovah God and Jesus Christ completely trust the faithful and discreet slave, should we not do the same?" Watchtower 2009 Feb 15 p.27

Since the WT organization claims 'apostolic succession "
Where did you get this idea from?

It isn't that the torch is selectively given to a certain group or singularly to someone , the torch is always taken by men to appeal to their own theological ideas and opinions, creating their own power and self glorification.
C T Russell and J Rutherford took the torch for themselves and created their own specific light and sold that to the public through their own literature.

They used to claim Apostolic Succession, though never spelling out what the unbroken line of Popes, er FDS were, just mentioning old guys like Wycliffe etc.
They now seem to have distanced themselves as much as possible from CTR, and seem to claim a 1900 year plus hiatus between J.C's death and the "evident" choosing of a FDS in 1919.
The only problem with this is......wait for it...... there is not ONE shred of proof anybody was chosen by J.C in 1919, and it gets worse, there is simply no reason to believe the Parable of the Slaves was prophetic in any sense.
Today's Governing Body, who claim to be the FDS, are self-appointed charlatans.

They refused to call it apostolic succession, but that's what it amounted to. They've since changed that with new light.
