Just curious. I know we have a few gamers on the board. Any thoughts on Neverwinter Nights?
Based on D&D, I understand (so I'll never be able to get my bro, brother-in-good-standing, to play it).

LOL @ MrMoe. Sorry, never played D&D. Not too long ago bought 'Morrowind', which is a PC game RPG. That was my very fist role-playing game of ANY kind, thank you very much.
(It *IS* spiffy enough, though, which is why I'm looking at NWN)
Well, I used to play Diablo online until it got taken over by a bunch of punks, so then I quit. I loved that game. I played the Necromancer and dang was I good!
Kisses,
Moe
Wow - that's cool. She's hot AND plays online. *sigh* {shakes fist in ai----
Diablo kind of acts like an RPG from what I understand. Little more combat-heavy than NWN is said to be, and the combat is a LOT faster than in NWN.
You'd probably like Morrowind, actually. Absolutely HUGE world to explore, and the graphics are very impressive.
Diablo is a great game...Necromancer was my character also...I haven't played NWN though...sorry. Just curious have you guys ever played Warcraft or Starcraft?
Played Warcraft II. It was okay, but I think the 'Age of Empires' series from Microsoft are just 10x better RTS games.
At least in multiplayer, anyway. I guess the single-player campaign in Warcraft is better than the 'Age of...' games, but since I tend to stick to multiplayer games, its vastly inferior MP really turned me off it.
I got both Morrowind and NWN .. Though neither is flawless, both are worth the money IMHO.. And both should be getting interesting mods as time goes on.

You, sir, are the person I want to talk to.
So, what I dislike of Morrowind:
Don't like the combat in it. For how fast it runs, it amounts to nothing more than running up to an enemy and clicking as many times as you can. Far from the FPS or RTS type combat I'm used to. Which would be okay if the game didn't revolve around it.
The NPCs are just...boring. They have little or no personality, and are never doing ANYTHING but standing around.
The game is too event-driven. Nothing happens in the game universe (as massive as it is) without you having triggered it by some action. Makes the whole world feel almost lifeless.
(Now, don't get the impression I don't like the game, I do, a lot - and have been playing it exclusively in my free time for several weeks now. Oh, yeah, and the mods kick ass)
BUT....for $60, does NWN really improve on my gripes above? Because if not, I really don't need another game with those flaws and I have a LOT of other things I could spend $60 on.
The Age of Empires series is a great multiplayer game. I love the gameplay. Warcraft III is coming out soon and is promising to be a really great RPG game...it looks like it will play similiar to Diablo II, but more war strategy involved.
