Fact: Bible chronology says the flood occurred between 2348 and 2370 BCE, depending on which scholar you listen to.

Fact: the Great Pyramid of Giza was constructed 200 years before, in c. 2560 BCE.

So, if you believe in a literal interpretation of Noah's Flood, you believe that the Egyptians built a great civilization, were destroyed by the flood in 2370 BCE, and then somehow, they reappeared immediately after the flood, picked right back up where they left off without skipping a cultural beat.

Oh, and isn't it ironic that legitimately studying the Great Pyramid of Giza debunks JW mythology now? We've come full circle! A "Great Witness" indeed!

Yep and if there is nothing else there should be at least water lines and deposits in these Pyramids

And then there's Gobekli Tepi....10,000 Years old! Bible 'chronology' (what a farce!) really needs some overhauling.

The Sphinx drowned too, still waterlogged.

I really enjoy learning about ancient civilizations.

It saddens me that most of the JWs I've known don't take an interest in much of anything ( except hiding their double life )...

You can also take into consideration of Stonehenge and hundreds of smaller sites across Europe that were built between 2800BC and 1800BC. There was no discontinuity of the culture and population until much later time, which was cased by shift between use of stones and bronze tools. There are thousands sites in Europe from that era. In Czech Republic, there are about 550 of neolithic sites from the time of the biblical deluge. Germany has as five times more, not to mention France, Spain, UK, and elsewhere. Yet, Stonehenge and menhirs are here all over western Europe, but no single evidence of Deluge was ever produced in that time.

It's time the bible was placed in the fiction category, along with all other religious books.

Your are so right. You can also add to your observation, that since we have been able to decode the hierglyphs (thanks to Champollion), we can estblish quite good kingdom (or Faraho) lines from in or about 3000 years before christ??!! They are not written on paper or Papyrus, they are written of stones in original. They are not transcriptions of translated transcriptions who is translated destroyed and translitterated again.

This is not the only original documents we have found. Late Archeological findings from the kingdoms of the Sumers, f.ex. the Gilgamecsh epos and several thousends of clay plates in cuniform letters. Saddly the Watchtower Soc. totaly ignore these facs, and we know why.

Well, I wasn't around at the time of the great flood (or was that the Big Rain (Vicar of Dibley-style?)) but I've been to see the pyramids and even crawled around in one. I can assure you there isn't one tide mark. Maybe I should have gone to Specsavers?
