Thanks Axelspeed. I guess it's 3 chapters not 2. I had only counted 2 before.
Chapter 14 is about how one becomes one of the annointed. I guess they don't want the number of annointed to keep going up as it has because that would be contrary to their doctrine, so the best way to do this is to keep their new recruits in the dark about how it is one becomes one of the annointed.
I mean, that's simply amazing. Carbon copy and older book, but remove the 'troublesome' sections. Don't worry, that's not a train, it's just 'new light'.
They've just taken out the controvertial(sp) parts.
I'm going to approach my parents about this this weekend. I still sign their blood cards and my dad had to have an operation last year without blood. (This type of operation usually requires blood). I need to know now what they believe and what they don't. Another operation might kill him - for what?
I wonder if my parents have noticed these things are missing from the new book.
I fear that my dad could die for something he believes in only for a Watchtower to come out a month after he's dead saying that blood during surgery is now o.k.
It sickens me too. I don't know if at the assembly they actually said this book replaces the old Worship book. If they did not, most JWs wouldn't suspect it and if they did most JWs still wouldn't think to compare the two. They have blind faith remember?
I know that my husband nor any of his family (all JWS) have not even mentioned it or thought to look and see if there might be a difference... blind faith I tell you... The WTS counts on it.
This might be worth 'outing' myself with my family over:
Me: "Hey, did you guys get the new 'Worship' book?"
Them: "Yeah, neat huh, it..."
Me: "I thought it was weird it was so much like the old 'United in Worship' book - did you see the table of contents?"
Them: "Uhhhh...yeah...I guess that is similar. Oh, wait, there is a different number of chapters."
Me: "Yeah, I noticed that. Didja see which ones they took out? Hey, you guys didn't happen to get new blood cards this year, did you? Our hall didn't pass them out - some kind of 'printing error' or something...."
