As the bad conduct of the Governing Body becomes widely known to both Judge and Jury I expect that will make lawsuits more profitable against them and easier wins against them and more plentiful.

I think probably one of the most damming videos out there on the net is the one where the parents show their loyalty to the WT corporation and shun their own flesh and blood in obedience to it cruel directives. This video truely shows that the Governing Body don't give a shit about the children who symbolize their dedication to the corporation or their parents.

Such a self serving Corporation that uses it members for profits only and offer nothing in return no matter how much how much they claim otherwise. They can't hide this it is plain as day so no matter how much they claim they are concerned about the youth in the organization their action thunder loudly and can not be hiden under a basket.

They really project the image of loving parents....way to go JWs. After the interview they must have had people lining up to congratulate them on their fine example of loyalty to their loving god.

At the very least, such videos should be shown in every child custody / divorce case where one parent is a JW and one is not.

Good one I didn't think of that

    Good point.

In a related topic - My brother (a JW) and his wife (a non-JW) were trying to adopt. They were turned down a number of times because the case worker determined that (a) having a mixed-belief marriage with a high-control religion creates a harmful environment and (b) the dangers of the JW doctrines (e.g. Blood Issue, Shunning) would be a potential harm to the child.

It's always nice to hear when the system actually works as it should.

I've been saying this a lot recently, but I think the Campos case has handed the WT's opponents a near-foolproof weapon...

...simply call a GB member to the stand and/or subpoena the WT's pedo database, and when they refuse to supply either, they lose by default.

Why wouldn't this tactic be effective in other cases besides those directly related to child abuse?

The worst thing the WTBTS could ever imagine is an ex-JW Lawyer working for Zalkin. Can you even imagine?

The problem with "worldly" Lawyers is they just don't get the JW mindset. Since they haven't been a dub, they don't get the intuitive "spider sense" when reading WTBTS PR on the official site. They can't educate the judge or the jury, because they don't really get it.

To be a Lawyer and and ex-JW would be so awesome. I can't even describe how powerful a weapon that would be.

Imaging someone like all of us, sitting in court and hearing WT Lawyers twist the fact. We lean over to our fellow "worldly" Lawyer, "whisper...whisper....WT 19xx, whisper...." The WTBTS would get destroyed in court.

This video is so twisted I don't even know where to start.

Seriously twisted thinking - to portray themselves as "loving", and stand up there so fucking self-righteous, so self-sacrificing...when in reality, they just sacrificed their child. And called it "love".

That isn't love. That is brutal self-preservation.

The insanity and brutality of what she is saying astounds me.

She says she would die for her children...but, if the child breaks the WTS' rules, she would not be there. Instead - she "kills" the child rather than dying herself. Because that is what disfellowshipping is - it is a symbolic "stoning to death".

Talk about a fucked way of viewing the world. Those parents are sacrificing their children for their own survival. And calling it "love".

"...and they so loved themselves that they gave up their own son so that the WTS could live..." I bet you won't find that in the Bible. But they believe that their god did that - sacrificed his own son.

Well...I said it before and I will say it again:

You can call it a tuna fish sandwich if you like, but if it is black and has four legs, walks low to the ground with a white stripe down its back...it's a skunk.

In our family, our parents withdrawal from us (luckily they did not outright shun us as none of us were baptized) did not work like this case presented in the video.

NONE of us kids are JWs. NONE of us ever will be JWs.

But Mom is dead now and Dad has dementia.

Dad left the JWs because his mind is no longer capable of being a JW.

This religion dies out in our immediate family once Dad goes.
