Golden Girl

A five year old girl was abducted from in front of her home in California!

It can happen in a split second. Do you know how many times I worried when my children were late? It wasn't as bad as it is now, but I still imagined the worst. Can you imagine how this mother is feeling..the things she is imagining? The scary part is..they might be true!.

That happens here so much it seems like daily. I heard on the news that the case had taken a sudden turn. They found the body of a young girl but don't know if it is the same little girl yet. It more then likely is. They are pretty sure it is but they are having a hard time identifying her.

Just in the last few days there has been several children brutally murdered.

An 8 year old was so brutally raped and murdered the sheriff said that it was the worst thing he has ever seen.

He looked sick when he was speaking about. They say the family was murdered in a comparrable way to that of the manson murders.

Alertness is good. But let's not blow this issue out of proportion. Crime have been going down for a while. Television uses scare tactics to increase ratings. The more gruesome, the more people like it. People with less tv time are happier.

If people weren't aware of what is going on..this would go out of control! People need to be aware and watch their children. A five year old has no business being out without supervision! Fanatic..maybe. I prefer..cautious! Not to the point of scaring the child to death..but imagine the alternative!

But let's not blow this issue out of proportion.

All due respect S.S. but How can something like this possibly be blown out of porportion?

A family was murdered 4 days ago and thier internal organs had been cut out and smeared all over the walls inside the house.

I don't think the media needs to use "Scare Tactics" to get attention or ratings this way. It was brodcast on each and every local News station.

This sorta thing has become too common around here for this to be dismissed as "scare tacktics" to boost ratings.

They just made a positive ID on the little girl it is 5-year-old Samantha Runion.

There was just a News conference held by the sheriff and the mayor of Stanton. They called in a profiler from the FBI and believe they have a serial child rapist/murder based on the profile and they expect him to attempt to repeat this with-in a very short period of time. And to PLEASE keep a close eye on your children. He could even be in another state by now stalking another child right now. They said that based on the profile, he will continue to keep abducting children until he is caught. He was extremely "brazen" in the way that he abducted her and in the way that he disposed of her body. She was found nude thrown by the roadside.

Anyone with small children, please don't even let them sit on the porch and play a board gamewithout adult supervision.

Be paranoid.

This link is probably one of the oldest hince it was not as detailed. If i can find a link closer to the actual day that hasent been chopped to death I will post that.

Most of the media attention right now where I live is focused on Inglewood. There is a bit of paranoia in the air, fear of another riot. So there is much going on locally to defuse that.

As for as the Whittier crimes there will probably be more coverage on that a bit later after they find the other suspects and file formal charges.

YOU CAN WATCH YOUR CHILD ALL YOU WANT...IT DOES NOT ALWAYS PROTECT THEM. I WAS WITH MY GIRLS ALMOST 24/7. THAT DID NOT CHANGE THAT MY MIDDLE CHILD WAS ABUSED.

I don't know how to apprach this, what to preface this with....all I know is that no matter how much you try to protect your children...abuse happens.

At one time...I thought it was just one of my 3 girls...years later I find out it may have been at least 2 out of the 3.

What I have learned is..........you can do everything within your power to protect your children but sometimes the demn in your midst can be your own spouse/significant other............the father of your child.

Your right it doesn't always protect them. When it happens within your family you also have to realize that it wasn't your fault. Anything can happen when we sleep or when we leave our kids with someone we trust. Both my boys were abused when they were very young. That period of time to me now is still difficult to think about. I thought many time that I would completely lose my mind before I could survive it.

There are no guarranties. We have to keep doing the best we can anyway.
