Would not this be easy to skim from? Just have your congregation give say 500 dollars

send in to the society that it's for 300 dollars and you now have 200 more a month. :]

    130K REMODELLING????????

In my experience, the Org/RBC has actually included in their valuations of remedial work done, how much the labour costs would have been - based on current wages!

That's exactly what happened in my old KH when a calculation was required for a given purpose!

Remove the "costs" of free labour, and the total costs of a refurb plummet!

With the CO's getting donations etc., how does all this figure in with Obamacare? Do the CO'S get subsidized for that or? The society is nothing more than a money grabbing organization and the congregations are being duped.

There may be some confusion regarding caring for the CO and the resolution passed.  Once a year there is a resolution passed by the congregation that send a suggested amount per publisher to the branch for the CO automobile insurance fund. That can be either a lump sum or broken down into 12 installments. of course the CO dosent a dime of that directly as it is billed as "car insurance" although i have no idea if thats where it actually goes or not once the branch gets it.

Then twice a year when the CO comes round he will often submit his "expenses" incured during his visit, including gas and misc food not provided by the congregation. Some congregations still pass a resolution to reimburse him for this as well although the BOE was sent a letter several years ago stating it wasnt nessary to pass a resolution on that each time he came to visit. That money does of course go directly to the CO, often  in the form of a check.  This is in addition to any gifts (green handshakes) he gets.

Hope this clarifies who gets what and for what :)

That is a tub of silver's worth, or more.  If silver is 20 toilet papers per ounce and they are sending 500 a month, they are sending 25 ounces of silver a month.  Seems tiny?  How tiny does it seem to those wasting their money that could have had that silver split among those who gave, or if they would have bought and kept the silver instead of donating?  Point:  What seems like a Starbucks coffee sacrifice is more like a home theater per month sacrifice.  Or, a brand new car per year.  With real money, at a time they are going to need it.

My resolution would be to not send anything.  Do not donate anything to that religion.  Do not go to the Grand Boasting Session, especially if you will be traveling or they change the venue and/or dates at the last minute (and, if you do go, do not donate anything).  Do not waste the time and money going on missionary work, namely Israel this spring (or any other mission).  If you already pledged to give funds, stop giving.  If you already have funds taken directly from your account, have this arrangement discontinued.  Do not volunteer any materials or labor on special projects of any kind.

As for the hounder-hounder, let that thing find its way to support itself.  Or let the parent organization support it--after all, isn't joke-hova supposed to be the source of all wealth?  Let that thing support the organization.

In conjunction with WTwizard, paul (the model traviling brother the branch brags about) made it a point to say he WORKED to support himself. Why shouldnt a CO do the same....?
