Um... my husband, works Production b/c of that, I have had the opportunity to go back stage alot. Perhaps one day I will get to frame all the passes. Believe me some celebs are not all they are cracked up to be... they are quite snobby. A few are very nice though.. down to earth not too caught up in it all.

In the mid 90s I met Billy Bob Thorton just after his first famous movie came out.

A couple of weeks ago I was in Chelsea and bumped into Whoopie Goldberg. She looks exactly the same in real life and is real down to earth.

I have also met Axl Rose, wonderwoman. He has a cool house in Malibu, although perhaps he has moved. I worked with a JW friend a few years back who had his own cleaning business. We were trying to polish his tiles in the patio.

I have also had the fortune to meet the former Prime Minister of Canada, Kim Campbell, who is currently Chair of the Council of Women World Leaders. She was the consul general to L.A. for a few years and my friend was her assistant.

I once got to try on a Super Bowl ring, when I met a former Oakland Raider (early 70s). I feel bad because I cannot remember his name. The ring is a pinky ring, but it was much bigger than ANY of my fingers!

A few of the other celebs I have seen up close or from afar: Cameron Diaz, the late Walter Matthau, Puff Daddy, Mel Gibson, Mary Lou Retton, Kerri Strug, Jaleel White (Urkel), LL Cool J, Donald Sutherland, and David Spade.

Check out the band Hepcat...a friend I grew up with in my young JW days was in the band before they retired:

I had just finished a beach dive in Cozumel and was wading back to the beach with all my equipment. I had on a black Van Halen T-shirt so I guess that's why Jeff Bridges walked up to me to ask me where he could find a place to eat. I barely recognized him, because he had a beard. He was on the island shooting "Against All Odds." What was cool was I also got to meet the two folks walking with him, Rachel Ward (The Thorn Birds) and Bryan Brown (Breaker Morant, FX). I really wanted to say "Jeff, I enjoyed your work in the film...." but all I could think of as far as Jeff Bridges movies was "King Kong" and I didn't think he wanted any recognition for that horrible film. Heh, heh.

celebrities, musicians..it's all the same.i met gord downie from the tragically hip when i was 13. he's good pals with my old bio teacher who also owned channel one, a club here that the hip played at regularily. unfortunately i wasn't a big fan at the time and didn't really think much of it, but i got to shake his hand and he got a kick out of how much i giggle . i've also met all the members of the death metal band cryptopsy, the guys from the punk band gob and next wednesday i get to meet the guys from cephalic carnage (another death metal band), as my cousin is good friends with them. and when i was just a wee child i met the wrestler andre the giant at some airport.

    Yes:

Eric Burden of the Animals lives nearby. We ride a lot with friends (Hog Members), go to his concerts when in the area. He is a blast!

Dick Dale of Surf Music fame lives in the area too. Been to his house to swim and mess around on the Bass. Great guy! Surf is up, dude!

We have met several Hawaiian slack key guitar players, because a friend of ours knows them well, and has played backstage with them. George and Keoki Kahanamoku, Ray Kane and his wife, Elodia, Led Kaapana, Keola Beamer. Keoki snuck my Dad into a concert last year. We planned to buy his ticket at the door, and they were sold out. So our friend went backstage, and Keoki came out, and took Dad in through the stage door, and seated all of us in better seats.

I've met lots of local celebrities at plays and at restaurants, but no one here would know them.

I totally forgot......... I met Barbara Bush at a convention (for one of my suppliers)..........very quick intro. She was cool and aloof, but a great speaker. If she didn't want to answer a question, (there was a Q & A session) she pretended she couldn't hear the question.

My cousin, Sean (who posts here as SEAKEN2001), works in his wife's family's business and installed a wood stove, in upstate New York for Chris Sarandon.

Hmm! In my youthful days I went out "On the pull" with this fella, probably only remotely recognisable to UK & Oz posters:

    Yup, Delboy visits quite often.
