They like having their hair cut and spend ages after laughing at each other I do it so short so that it 'lasts longer'.

The first time we did it very short was a bit of an accident - Liam did not want to have his hair cut and was thrashing about so much that he knocked the bit off the end of the trimmer so one stroke cut a *lot* off. I had to then do the rest of his head to match !

Simply delightful...I am so glad to put faces to some of these names. You looked like you were having a jolly good time.

Was having some live chat with Invisible/Mark the night/day before(accounting for time zone difference) and he almost sounded like he wasn't going to able to make it. But he did. That's great.

And ENGLISHMAN I might as well chatter on here about Harvey Andrews. The only bit of music I own by him is a tape I made from a friend.(please don't turn me in to the copywrite police) Twenty Five Years on the Road I think it's called I didn't even write down the song titles. I just listen to it alot. But this friend of mine wouldn't have been able to buy the CD if I hadn't found his web site a couple years ago. You can buy his cds through someone here in Canada so could you say I helped make the sale? Humour me here. Please make me feel better for having a pirated copy. This friend was eternally grateful to me too. She kept telling me about a song about finding a little nook to read a book.

I was introduced to his music through a CBC radio program on Saturday mornings. I taped alot of those shows. Max Ferguson was the host. Max played the songs from the Margarita collection. Serious and touching songs. The two that stand out in my mind was one about his maiden aunt and "She Saw Him Smile". So when he was here in Canada in 1997 and I was able to see him in a one day autumn folk festival.....I didn't know he was humourous as well. I knew the "Book Nook Song"(as I call it) as soon as he started it.

Last summer he was at the same folk club for an evening concert. This time my friend, her husband and her sister were able to be there. I looked at his web site a month or two ago and it doesn't look like he will be in Canada this year but we are anxiously awaiting his arrival.

So are you familiar with Margaret Cooper and Phil Nelson? Heard their music on Max's show too. I saw them at a summer folk festival in 1997here in Ontario. It was at this festival that a sea gull annointed my purchased program while flying over head....... I found a tap and proceeded to wash the guamo (polite word for bird sh_t.) Also smeared soap over it.. Yuck I know but I wasn't going to throw out a perfectly good program. My niece and daughter didn't seem to want to know me. I wonder if Harvey could write a song about sea gulls and their business. Sure hope I haven't grossed anyone out.

SIMON I hope you don't mind me posting this here. Blame OZZIE and his weekend poll. Everything rolls into another. Life's a circle. Thanx for showing us the pictures. Wish I could have been there.

    Simon,

Trucker just sent me an e-mail about the great fun had by all at the BBQ. He was amazed at the turnout! Everyone looks very happy. It was very nice of Englishman to host the gathering. Sounds like it was a great turnout. Looks like you had a "picture-perfect" day.

Your pictures are great too! Your boys are adorable. All the "baldies" look "cool".

From the side, "Celtic" Kinda reminds me of Phil Collins.

Great fun, friends, food & beer.............what more could a person ask for? Well, being a gardener.........I took much interest in Eman's fabulous flowers - wonderful! Of course, Her Ladyship might have something to do with that too

Someone made the comment not long ago that organizing xjw get-togethers wasn't important work. I wholeheartedly disagree!!!!!! We can learn all we want, rant, rave, make cyber friends/enemies - but all that's of limited use.

What you all accomplished in the Real World was of real importance. Families & friends enjoying each other's company.....making even closer friends in the process.

Congratulation to y'all! Btw, Simon, why did that guy want to lay on the floor and take you and Ang's picture? An English peculiarity?
