I'am shocked!

I did'nt know so many people felt this why about JW's. I just came across this site tonite. I've been reading alot of the subjects and have a few questions here is one of them. Some of the things I read are pretty far out there and very hard for me to believe like the "whats the most outragous thing you ever heard" subject, why would'nt these people question what some of these "elders" were saying? If I was ever part of this org. boy I'd question everything. Kimmie

Question the elders? Hmmm. Questioning the elders is out of the question. JWs are to honor and respect the body of elders, for they were appointed by God`s holy spirit. Yeah right, which is why so many of them have ego problems, and abuse the authority that is assigned to them.

Girl, you just have no idea!

By the way, welcome, don`t be surprised some of us are upset, and some of us have been through sheer hell and are here to let it out with others that understand.

The irony is...then you wouldn't be part of the WTBTS organization.

Openly expressing diversity of thought isn't tolerated...appearing to conform is everything. 'Unity' is financially efficient and easier to administer adherents (Jehovah's Witnesses).

Actually you are all right since I was raised in it since I was born. Never was baptized. Never felt the need. I do know how it used to be ran, so its still that why? My Dad was booted out way to late, beat us all and drank himself to death. I feel if it was'nt for the org. my Mom would have left him. But who really knows? I have alot to be mad about and seen and heard alot. Kimmie

Questioning is still out of order, every time I would question something I would be accused of having little faith, no respect etc. Questioning something the GB says, is in Borg eyes questioning God.

Despite what the WTS says, 'independent thinking' is a must for anyone who wishes to know the truth about anything. Funny how those who test their own religious organisations while studying with JWs are commended for their independent thinking! There are too many people/institutions, etc with vested interests that get in the way of truth. Just think if C.T. Russell wasn't an independent thinker then there would not have been the WTS (yes I know what a lot here are going to say!). History is full of people who relied on independent thinking in order to benefit humankind in some way.
