thanks for the nice and factual reseach, quite an interesting one.
I do remember also a letter written to a JW' , from the WBTS Inc.
of New York, the Writing Department. I don't have the web page
anymore but I do have these references:
****** EZF:ESJ December 11, 1996***
The first line reads: " We apologize - for our delay- in responding to your letter
of November 3, 1996. You ask about the propriety of a Christian wearing a beard."
It is a two pages letter and comments about privileges.
Maybe somebody else will find the link again, if not I could try to scann it.
