I am going through the process of disassociating myself. As usual people are talking, some are rumoring me an "athiest" my brother thinks Satan has me. It's crazy, just because I don't believe the JW's and want to leave, everyone is all over me. It's been the subject for 2 months straight, (since I left). It's a quite a cult. I believe in God, but I think the JW's are missing the point. They think that if your in the "world" then you're on Satan's lap. I'm not out raising cain, I'm just being a good person, which "isn't enough". If you're in the world you may as well let it all hang out and party hard, rob a bank or do something stupid because it doesn't matter, thats happened to a few of my friends. I'm tired of them telling me, "oh don't get married till the new system" and regulating every single detail in my life.

Don't worry about it, they're antichrists, under Satan's control, and they can't hear what you're saying. I was going to say to pray for them, but it's obvious that you already do that - in a way.

"Fore-give them cause they don't know what they're doing" - give them spiritual growth before the natural time so they may realise and not be in the dark about who they are.

You're on the right track, don't let them get to you.

People like you are the proof against the average JW's perception of all who leave the organization as "immoral dogs, and proud of it" (to quote one prominent poster to this board). They need to see that many who leave the organization live lives just as wholesome as their own (maybe more so).

    Stay with it!!

    Removing the Bondage

So how does one remove this bondage, this burden of control that threatens with eternal death if you leave Gods people? How does one overcome the fears and jump the psychological barriers that prevent your escape over to the world of critical thinking. Even thereafter, when one has escaped, how does one gird their loins into a new day; a new world less restricting, less spiritual, less moral, requiring another mindset that can help the person onto their new journey out into the world, a world that belongs to Satan. You are thrust out into enemy territory without knowing about the spiritual suit armour of Christ. Satan roars and you're a sittin duck.

Every Christian not knowing who they are in Christ is a sitting duck. You don't know where the enemy is. You cannot even recognize him. You have been kept in the third grade for your whole Watchtower journey, full of misinformation called truth. You're left without real understanding or wisdom. You only know Jehovah. Your relationship with Christ is obscure, and the Comforter is vague at most.

You soon realize you need to discover now your relationship with Christ--the one the WT never let you have. Where is Christ? How do I find him? Who am I now?? Right now, I'm just glad I feel peace.

Consider how much they live in FEAR that this will happen to them. How much they BELIEVE in their hearts, that they can't function responsibly without the WTS.

They 'project' that fear onto you, because they're too ashamed to acknowledge it to themselves - that they actually feel that way.

Just think, without Jehovah's Witnesses, where would students of psychology go to find a ready made crowd that they could observe to understand the AWESOME powers of denial, projection and peer pressure on the human psyche?.

You don't need me to answer your question, do you?

Just do what you think is right. As long as you feel good about what you are doing and you think it is right then it doesn't matter what everybody else thinks. There is no sense in making others happy if you are miserable.

Yeah, let your yes be yes and your no be no.

And I wouldn't agree that you've been in the third grade at jw land. Rather - more like bound up in your own house with a strong man in charge of your spiritual belongings.

To believe in God you must act like it, I'm not saying join the jw, Cause even if you do leave, you Follow the bible by living by the lawz, new lawz, and commandments, And do what you suppose to do, heeding john 9 verse 31 is very important.. You a good person cool, but i'm pretty sure the people in noah's day was good, but they did'nt heed reality, and under thy sun thy goeth......So to believe in God, It takes alot more to just believe.....

    Hi 67Mustang,

You know, in watching my friends that are JW, initially to the outsider it looks like the JWs have this high moral standard, this congregational "love" that they always talk about, etc. But in watching the JWs more closely, and hearing folks like you, it's obvious that the JW standard of living is nothing but a set of rules to be followed. As we know, according to the New Testament, living by rules alone is not possible, nor is it healthy. Living by rules is actually a standard sub-par to the principle of Diving Grace. And the JW folks have completely perverted the Bible, trying to teach this twisted and un-atainable moral standard, similar to the ways the Pharasies did. The difference between the JWs and the Pharasees though, is that the JWs have even further twisted the reasoning on morals and love than the Pharasees did. For concrete examples we can have further email discussion if you would like.

Anyway, the fact is that the JWs don't live by the moral and legalistic standards that they say they do. This is obvious by all the court cases going on over child sexual abuse, etc. Nor do they love eachother they way they say they do, which obvious by what you are personally experiencing.

So the JW way of living does not promote a loving or positive spiritual experience, if it is "spiritual" at all; it is actually destructive. The JWs and their pathetic organization is nothing but a human made organization bing led by egotisical men fed by Satan.

I'm sorry that you are having a difficult time getting out. I'm glad to hear that you are not soured on the idea of believing in GOD, and that you feel you can move on with your life outside the JWs. I don't know what it's worth to you, but I can pray for you, and them also.

    Good luck, and GOD Bless!!

    *hugs to you 67*

It's hard, I went through the same thing, and was in the exact same position as you. (believing in God, but that the organization was screwing everything up) When I first told them I was going to stop going to meetings the elders came to chat with me and tell me I was depressed and that I would snap out of it eventually. I informed them I was not depressed at all. They thought I must have done something wrong, which I hadn't...so whatever.

I don't really know what to tell you except that I have been there, and eventually you will make your own choice and it will get easier for you. You kinda learn to deal with their speculations and "loving talks" with you. You kind of become immune to it. And take it as a "ehh whatever"

Hang in there, eventually, somehow someway, things will get worked out--and I hope it all goes well for you...
