I suppose that I ought to come clean now.. I do recall, when I was a single man of course, that copious quantities of beer did indeed have the effect of making all women seem beautiful. It's known as "Wearing one's beer goggles".
There was once an occasion, so I am told anyway, that I proposed marriage to a very thin lady with tousled hair.
Only when I awoke sprawled across the floor of the "Pomme d'or" night club did I realise that the object of my affection had been a floor mop.
