Its funny when you think about what the dubs say about us, if they know we are out of the org. for not believing anymore, they think we have lost our minds, that we are crazy, mentally corrupt. Even if one repents and goes back to the Borg he is watched like a hawk.

But now if one has sex with a goat or he runs off with another woman and leaves behind his wife and children to provide for themselves, or he screws you out of your money and leaves you broke, but repents he was not crazy, it was a moment of weakness.

well Turk, I for one admit to being crazy! make of that what you will. You make a valid point though..as we have seen from the recent programmes, one can even repent for using children as sexual objects and be forgiven so it is amazing that others who simply choose to leave because they cant take the way of life are DF'd??????? And WWWWEEEEEEEE are crazy?

    Yes,

I almost lost my mind when I was in there. And now I must say they are right I am mentally corrupt and loving every minute of it!

Heah, guess what, I was screwed by a goat once though. I admit it, confession time, that WTBTS screwed me royally. Can that be considered a very looooooooong moment of weakness?

Yes, we all started using our minds once we left the borg. We couldn't or wouldn't continue to run to see what the Watchtower had to say about any given subject.

When I was in the borg I was taking an antidepressant, an antipsychotic, and an antianxiety drug. I was frequently suicidal.

Since leaving the borg I have been taken off of both the antipsychotic and the antianxiety drugs. And my dosage on the antidepressant has been lowered TWICE!! My doctor says that there is even a chance I could get off of it forever, whereas before I was expected to be on it for life. I was going to therapy once and sometimes twice a week...now I only go as needed, or once a month.

I have been underweight all my life but since leaving the borg I have gained 23 pounds! I asked my doctor if I needed to be worried and she said, "No, I think you are just happy."

So, you can't tell me that I've lost my mind...I'm never going back.

P.S. We are all a little crazy....some of us just get caught!

Edward Abbey once said: "Only the half-mad are wholly alive." I agree.

The Witnesses have to make up a whole mythology about why people leave. It can never be that someone leaves because they simply can no longer believe a body of teachings that do not make sense historically, scientifically or rationally.

But, in a nutshell (pun intended) the above is exactly the reason I left after 35 years. I could no longer keep kidding myself that all of the "problems" of the WTS's teachings would someday be straightened out and make sense to me. It is nice to be wholly alive, without the necessity of denying what my rational mind is telling me, in order to bolster a strange, obscure and irrational theology.
