I find it a bit more than slightly amusing that from one side of the mouth you hear 83% this, and 93% that, and 6 irregular publishers VS 11 irregular publishers, etc. while from the other side of the mouth the contradictary admonishment warning of the parells of worldly association. How much closer to worldly can you get then obsessing over numbers? If numbers were so important to big G and his ilk, then wouldn't all good christians experience a minny rapture when doing their taxes? HMMM, are their world wide 144,000 tax agents? Oh my God, I've got it. Eureka, let's start a religion.

I used to come out with stuff like that when I was managing a double-glazing company. Every Monday am, I would try to crank up the reps so as to get more sales. I even wrote a little poem:
Come to the meeting, don't be late
Hear Mike Hooper motivate!
I think that is why so many JW's are involved in direct sales, the similarity makes them feel right at home, only the product is different.
Now there's a thought:
KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES. (Double glazing division.)

LOL, Mr. Biggs.
I attended the service meeting just after the CO's visit when I was about to have my disassociation announced and the PO was citing how many publishers there were at present in the congregation. I was laughing to myself, thinking "Minus ONE!"
The sentence about the world being self-centered and egotistical and that it was a sign of our faith to be willing to SERVE (unlike those nasty worldlings) was what always brought me down about the CO visits towards the end. I could never do enough. And if I wanted to stay home and nurse a cold on a meeting night or attend a picnic instead of going in field service on Saturday, I was some sort of faithless witch! Arrrggghhh!
Thank you for reminding me how well-served I am by being

Oh man, what a joke!! There were LOTS of stupid comments made by your CO as follows. I've put my thoughts in bold:
".....our continued study of the Isaiah's Prophecy book. And aren't we enjoying that!....."
Uh......Noooooooooo.......it's boring as hell.
"......now as we are coming down to an understanding of the conclusion of the system of things....."
So is this a half-assed admission that they've screwed up their previous "understanding" of the conclusion of this system of things??? (I did NOT have - sexual relations with that woman!)
".....He says that we might want to read in advance Psalm 91......"
Then again, we might NOT............
".....He said that if we read it in advance then our minds will be tuned in to the thoughts that are going to be developed....."
So like, we'll be able to READ the speakers thoughts??!! Isn't that ESP?? Isn't that controlled by.........SATAN??!!
He then says that after the Watchtower study, he will deliver a concluding talk entitled, 'I Am Lucutus - A Borg' and it "centers on the opportunities we have of building a deepening appreciation for the provisions of Gene Rodenberry."
"Any increase, any improvement, any prosperity is an OBVIOUS demonstration of God's spirit at WORK on His people!
Ya? OK, well I guess we can OBVIOUSLY apply that logic to the Mormons, Walt Disney World and IBM...........
Our congregation faked (since the last CO visit) 9.9 hours in field service. The national fake average right now, he said, is 9.4 hours. "You're well above the national average." Our congregation is averaging 9 magazines placed per publisher. The national average is 8.5.
How the hell can anyone place half a magazine??????

Man! What kind of congregation has 109% & 107% at the Talk and WT Study? 101% at the book study is unheard of! I haven't heard numbers like that for years. Must be some real stalwarts in your area.

I heard the almost same message on the CO's visit. I think the Society gives the CO's the script and tells them to follow it exactly. And I agree about the Isaiah book....it sucks!

Seems to me your CO must be in his mid 80s.
Since the Service Dept. provides them with outlines for all their talks they usually stick to that without going into too many details about the local cong.
And comparisons are usually not made - except your CO is doing his job for 40 or more yrs and is simply sticking to his good old routine of publisher bashing.

But will he bring the word of God to the congregation this week?
Cheers, Ozzie (seen the light class)

Mister 8iggs
Wait until I post the crap that spewed forth from his mouth last night (Thursday)! It's incredible (but not surprising).
