Although these guys were 'just doing their job' I am in awe of their courage, their strength and their desire to help people.
The men and women in Emergency Services despite their faults and/or mistakes are truly hero material.
I have wondered how I would act in such an emergency. I would like to think that I would rise to the occasion but I doubt too many could compare to the courage and fortitude of the folks referred to in that article.

The terrorists intention to bring the US to it's knees failed miserably. Instead, the whole world marvelled at the courage of the American people in the face of such a horrific attack. This account confirms that.

Imagine being there on the 78th floor......unbelievable. They seemd so calm about it. they had attack plans like military men. Hero-brilliant.
They walked into hell and kept their cool. they must've known the situation ws as dangerous as it could get. They probably knew by that point that they were in grave danger. (their building fell last).
the fact that they didn't run is amazing. I'm almost sure I would have tied to make a run for my life after seeing the first one fall.

And when you hear that some Witnesses were not that affected by what happened on Sept.11th. Their view: spending time in field service and saving lives eternally is so much more important than any relief work.

I remember a while ago listening to a Circuit Overseer make a comparrison of going into a burning building to save someones life being easier than going door to door preaching.....HUH....LOL...I wonder what that knucklehead thinks after reading of such astonishing and awe inspiring accounts of the brave and galant firefighters who gave up their lives to try and save lives. Thanks for posting that artical Reborn...it brought tears to my eyes...I still have a hard time dealing with reminders of that day...but do enjoy reading of the bravery displayed by those men. His widow was also very brave being present at the playing of that tape and her comments confirm her bravery.

just think as jw we could not as a congo send $2 to the families of these guys
can you imagine the body of elders saying: "Friends let's send $2.oo from congo cash to One family to say THANKS FOR THE Sacrifice your husband made"
as my wife and i read this we just talked about how as a people we were taught to have NO FEELINGS for folks
our only response would have been THAT IS WHY WE NEED THE KINGDOM
"Damn we were all in some real Sh!t being Jehovah's Witnesses"
