What we see in this is that the various Christological/Theological ideas that originated in the 1st Century C.E or earlier, were continued long after the 1st Century, not news to us of course, but it gives the lie to the impression the J.W Org. and other Sects like to give, that there was a unified set of beliefs held in the 1st Century by one set of Christians, whose beliefs and teachings the J.W's and others could "get back to".
Priestley has decided on a Unitarian view.
But why should just one view of, say, the Divinity of Christ, or when he became Divine or whatever, be the correct one ? "the truth", and who decides now ?
And by what Authority do they decide ? Priestley was deciding for himself, as the other Sects do. The most powerful Sects become the "orthodox", but, as the man with the wooden leg said, it's all a matter of a pinion.
