I just had one of those house spiders which, while harmless and quite small, sent me running for cover. The speed at which the blighters move is horrific, and the leg span which must have been 4 - 5 inches (big for an English spider) seems to exaggerate the over-all size.
Only trouble is, I missed grabbing it and it went into hiding.
I am now sitting reading this web site and keep subconciously itching all over my body, particularly my feet.
