It was too bad they ran out of time before Lew (Dakota?) could get on the air. But it was good to hear Craig tell of his experience.

LOL, how did you know it was me, Kismet? I guess I just waited to late to call. But their screener is a real nice guy to talk too. He showed real concern about the callers and was very apologetic for the time constraints. He wished the program could be a 2 hour program. Today, I think it could have gone all morning as more and more called in.

I feel a bit guilty tho that they ran out of time. I was "Peter". I wasn't really expecting to be on the line as long as I was but my mouth is like a frieght train, once it gets rolling it is pretty damn tough to get it to stop.
Just to clarify to some who listened to the program, regarding some of my phraseology etc, Theocratic Warfare allows me to become all things to all people. When in Rome....

Kismet, I got wrapped up more in listening and just waited too long to call. I really didn't expect to get through so easy, but I did. Also, I am a bit squeamish about public speaking. Basically, I just wanted to share how I am going through a divorce from a JW and how she turned to the elders for guidance in it, as well as how being shunned within my own home helped bring it about. If I had time, too, I wanted to mention how they discouraged me from walking my own daughter down the aisle at her wedding.
People need to know what type of group the JWs are and that they are not the peaceful folk they portray at the door, only intersted in bringing any to God. They only wish to bring all to the Watchtower.
I hope there will be more programs like this popping up and we will all have a chance to participate. Next time, I will call earlier, LOL

Your comments were very well said. I was glad to get a chance to speak up at the end. I only regret having had to shorten it, due to time running out. The incident actually spanned over about three months. During those months, we had visits at the door by the elders and my wife had numerous phone calls from the elders trying to force her or myself to come to a comittee meeting. I told them, one time and one time only that I was doing the best that I could to take care of my wife's best interest. She has a mood disorder called bipolar and was being hospitalized to get her medication right. She was going through a tough time at that moment dealing the loss of her father's suicide. Her health was the most important thing for me to protect at that time. She was in NO condition to go before a body of elder, and undergo a inquistion. They totally ignored my request and finally gave me and my wife a ultimatum to show up at a specific time or they will consider us as disassociating ourselves. So we took them up on their offer. The rummor going around town was that we wrote a letter to the body of elders, but that was a lie. There is more to the story, but that's pretty much it, in a nutshell.
I thought what you did, by going on that radio show, will help any j.w. listener to know how families are being distroyed. My wife has a large family and still has many that call themselves active witnesses. Their association with us at present is limited to the care her uncle that is suffering from Alzheimers desease. We realize that when her uncle passes, our communication will stop.
Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to get a few words in. I hope you'll have more opportunity to get on another radio show. If you do, please keep me in mind and email me. I'd love to get on and finish the story.

i didnt hear the st louis show--but if it got some "numbers" in the st louis market the witness topic should catch on in other radio markets.... talk radio is a really good way to reach a diverse deomographic area and JW scandals like pedo-df-shunning hit a hot button with producers....i know its cold but sex sells... so do human rights abuses...sex and human rights, plus the fact that John Q Public generally dislikes the witnesses---blockbuster...
dont be shy about calling in to your favorite station and bringing up the topic---WLS chicago, KMXO st louis WOR NYC, plus the syncdicated shows are always looking for ratings...plus these markets have high numbers of JW's
