Its funny when i was younger my family always called me to come downstairs and be with the family, but the problem was my family would all just sit and watch Tv and hardly say anything,so when someone says to me you play to many computer games or browse the web i say well its better than watching tv for 5-6 hours a day,all though i was brought up around tv i must admit i have started reading alot and now i actually like reading books and info on the net.Is it the same for most of you on here, was your family boring or interesting, do like to play computer games, internet, etc. I recently bought an x-box and a gamecube halo and rogue leader are brilliant im hooked!!!!!

Erm... if you pop along to my website, you'll see the games I love :o)
I also have Gamecube (the imported US model) - a wicked PC and a heap of older consoles and GBA + flashlinker. I am an addict, although design work takes most of my time at the moment.
I used to work for Eidos Interactive as well :o) Just to drag my hobbie into the work place !
You are not on your own mate !
By the way, my parents were and are terminally dull TV addicts. At least the net and computer games involve the viewer/player via interaction.
Readings cool as well ............... check the book THE WASP FACTORY / IAIN BANKS for one hell of a weird ride ;o)

Right now I am hooked on Paul Gipes "Wind Power - Renewable Energy for Home and Business". Older book from the library. As far as gaming goes, my father bought my sister and I an Atari 2600 years back. It get shelved. Then he bought me a Nintendo in the late eighties. It got traded for a copy of Zeppelin I, and five bucks. I just never got into the gaming thing. As far as the idiot box in concerned, I am hooked on This Old House Classics, Letterman, and sadly, M*A*S*H.
I watch about an hour a day.

the only time I get real addicted to tv is during football and hockey season but other than that video games, computers and books are my main forms of entertainment these days.If I didn't have cable probly wouldn't watch near as much tv I don't think network tv has very good programming most of the best shows are on the sci fi and discovery channel .

I don't do computer games. I like to watch educational television and skin flicks. I love the net thang. Mostly, this discussion group and to search out information. My wife and my son use the net to save lots of money by buying things we don't need, and that is a blessing.

My primary need for entertainment is interactivity - staring at a television in a slack-jawed fashion isn't something I find particularly interesting. I don't enjoy watching machines, but I do enjoy wrestling with machines and bending them to my will - that's why I'm a programmer

Thanks to my son for bringing his Playstation.....I just maybe hooked on a new outlet if I can just figure out how to use those darn controls, he makes it look so easy! ;o\
Tettris, anyone have a downloadable version for the web? I love that game and am too cheap to buy it. Guess I could do a web search.....lol
Other than that when I get bored I play the standard games of Solitaire,Free Cell, Hearts and Mindsweeper that are on my computer.

Oh you people who aren't technology geeks amuse me. Who says you can only do one thing at once? If you're a little inventive with wiring and have some free space you can have a setup like mine. From one chair I have my computer in front of me (web surfing) and sitting on the desk next to it is a 15" TV with a cable connection for television viewing. To my immediate right is all the home entertainment gear (surround sound reciever, DVD player, CD player, VCR, tape deck). If I turn a little bit there's a bigger TV for video gaming. I can easily be surfing the net, watching TV, and playing video games all at the same time. Not only that, but any input signal (cable TV, VCR, CD, cassette tape, computer audio/video, video games) can go right back out to any other device I want (VCR's in living room and bedroom, small and large TV's in the living room, TV in the bedroom, computer, surround sound speakers, cassette deck). Also, any signal can be blocked from any of those same systems I want as well. I haven't got any fancy or expensive equipment to do any of that stuff either. You could buy all the needed A/V distribution stuff at Radio Shack for about $50 or even less if you have a decent reciever for switching purposes.
If anyone wants any more information on how to do that stuff just say so and I'll email you more detailed information on how to do it. -

I like reading true crime stories on the internet. I have ready every story on this site. http://www.crimelibrary.com and hope to find more like it.
I also read about the paranormal on the net. It interest me a great deal since I have seen a few things out of the ordinary in my lifetime.
As for the past few weeks I have been hooked on downloading movies at Kazaa. I saw Signs the other day and am downloading One Hour Photo as I type this. I made the mistake of watching part one before part 2 was finished and the suspense is killing me.:(]
I have an addictive personality, so I get totally involved with one thing until I get bored with it and then move on to something else, etc.
I hardly watch TV anymore but it is alway on in the back ground for noise.
