Hi Prisca, I know what you are saying. We have heard it all, or most of it before. I think new posters will often download their 'party pieces' but it will subside with time. Time usually sorts these things out. I don't think we will end up like h20, mainly because of the lack of quality apologetics!

I think the H20 posters of old, they know who they are, did/are doing a great job and it is nice to see them here. You can always keep to the fore those threads you like. It is of course driven by a 'market force' and so if the board is in favour of a certain style it will gain prominence. So it is a matter of going with the flo........

    See ya soon

    Prisca,

You have made an interesting observation.

H2O has a very strict FPP for posting and personal attacks are not allowed. But some "oldies" had been ignoring that part of the FPP and got into the habit of "attacking" the person rather than the ideas presented in a post. When the moderators started to get "tough" and delete some postings for FPP violations, the "oldies" screamed - "We want 'freedom of speech' here. Then certain "oldies" from Norway went wild posting FPP violations. The end result has been that since this board lacked moderators to clean up the mess that got posted - 'freedom of speech' ruled here, or so everyone thought.

Time will tell what things will be like here soon.

Thank you prisca! I agree completely. I was attracted to this place because people with differing viewpoints were capable of discussing them without getting hostile. It's been pretty nasty as of late.

    Coffee shop eh!

I like to think of this place as a bar - that way I feel at home. I find the brawls entertaining, the rows fun and welcome all that enter. On the other hand we don't want the place crowded with lager louts and trouble makers.

Give us a kiss and we'll buy you a drink and pass some time together.

    NL2,
By pointing the finger at the norwegians you are not telling the whole story... it was the fundys, the rabid christians that also violated fpp,and they were the ones screamin to the moddys///From my personal experience, all those who attacked me were followers of christ aand supposed jw's. So please be totally honest here.Tina

    Tina,

I disagree. It was not the Christians who have been flooding the h2o board the last three weeks with "new thread" personal attacks. Go read Lisa75's thread "The sick and depraved Shiney" for only one example. Almost every post that "Lisa75" makes is a personal attack. BTW, just take a guess at the real identity of Lisa75.

Let's just say we agree to disagree here, Tina.

    NL2,
I was speaking of the last 3 wks,but the entire last year. The fundy christians consistently violated the ffp with their proselytizing. In fact your pal kes,got deleted for that very violation the other day. And I've seen Lisas posts ,Shineys as well, and he is no 'shining example' of conduct either. Tina

My biggest problem with people doing the 'cut and paste' thing is sometimes it damages thier logical flow. Instead of having a theme supported by a few quotes from a magazine they paste the whole article. Now I know this probably comes from the org. often quoting out of context, but sometimes being breif is beneficial. This is especially damaging when only a couple of sentences from the whole article deal with the posters topic, then the effect of posting the whole article (which has a seperate theme and body) is to have two articles (with different themes, support, and conclusions) in one post. Maybe it would be better to reference the article instead of quoting the whole thing.
