I think that is just speculation. "of this order" could in fact mean a system of rules such as the mosaic law.
It's pretty much all part of the same thing. The way of the worldly "righteous". Using mosaic law someone might avoid eating hawks and kites, just like God said, and become righteous for their avarian culinary habits. Someone else might not prey on those who are less fortunate. One lived according to the flesh, and the other the spirit. But further, the "god of this world etc" is the spirit generated by this - that "earned" type of righteousness which describes it.
About living through flesh, I assume you suggest that this is how they are blinded? that this spirit of fleshliness is actually the spirit of Satan?
